I am currently an Adolescent Education: Math student at SUNY New Paltz. I strive to be both a figure of reliability as well as relatability.

I am a graduate of Baldwin-Wallace University, Berea, Ohio. I have a B.A. in Psychology and Elementary education. I taught middle school math and science for 22 years, including math intervention, grades 6, and 7. In addition, I've tutored students for over 4 years in all subjects, my favorite being pre-algebra. I believe all students need a welcoming, supportive, and happy learning environment to be successful.

After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Digital & Broadcast Journalism and minor in Speech Communication from the University of Georgia, I spent 3 years as a full-time news producer with NBC 26/ WAGT-TV. During that time, I also received the amazing opportunity to head coach Augusta University's competitive cheerleading team, whom I helped tutor during my spare time outside of the newsroom. It was then that I realized my passion for teaching and became a middle-school Video Broadcasting Teacher with Fulton County Schools. Here, I developed positive relationships with my students and helped them produce live, daily newscasts broadcasted school-wide and online.As much as I loved being a teacher inside the classroom, I missed the one-on-one experience tutoring gave me with my students. That's why I'm here-- to motivate and encourage each of my students to get excited to learn! :)

I hope to help each student by allowing them to explore different learning methods and creating a better understanding about themselves and their potential.

I am originally from the Northern suburbs of Chicago, and have lived all over the US and Europe while working in the pharmaceutical industry. I have taught business classes at the post secondary level in the UK, and have also tutored a wide variety of subjects to students at various skill levels back here in Chicago.I truly enjoy helping students reach their goals and maintain their motivation toward success, and I believe that the best tutoring experience begins with the tutor properly determining the needs and goals of the student.I look forward to working with you!

I became interested in learning Spanish in middle school because of the neighborhood I lived in. Everyone around me spoke Spanish. After taking classes all throughout middle & high school, it became a goal for me to become fluent. Therefore I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Psychology from the University of California, Davis. In college I tutored foreign exchange students from Latin America and helped them learn English. I also had an internship at a an elementary school in their Spanish Immersion Program where I taught 5th graders lessons in Spanish. I didn't know I had a passion for working with students until I started working with middle & high school students at an outreach program. During my 3 years working with students I realized that resources and guidance are what determines a student's future and I wanted to be able to help impact student's lives by giving them the resources I didn't have access to growing up. Students are the future to changing the world and my idea of helping others and giving back is to help students grow their skills by learning another language. I also recently received my Masters of Science in Administration with an Emphasis in Leadership. My degree has propelled me into a role working with college students, mentoring and developing them on marketing and sales for networking tactics. I'm a firm believer that being bilingual has set me up for success in the workplace and all generations should have access to learn even outside the realm of traditional school.

Adventurer/Traveler: in the last 2.5 years I've Sailed in 5 timezones, been in 10 caves, to 20 countries and 30 states. I tutor from home usually, but you never know when I might be in cali or Iowa or Ireland. But I make sure to match your schedule the best I can! I'm always happy to share cool travel stories.Just graduated college with honors in Chem and Math. Now an online tutor. The flexible schedule means I can travel and have waaaaaay more awesome hobbies than any one man should be allowed to have, basically Indiana Jones! If Indy were a barefoot chemist, and also a future carny... Anyway I really enjoy nerding out about science and science-like things, green/nuclear energy(!!!), videogames, politics, or fantasy. I have worked at UCF Academic Services for Student-Athletes assisting student-athletes in college-level courses related to chemistry, biology, genetics, history, and anthropology. I am most passionate about chemistry and biological anthropology as my master's research is related to the application of chemistry to human osteology. I am a firm believer that anyone can become an expert in a discipline as long as they are given the proper tools to learn that topic.
