Economics Tutoring review by Brigid in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
Again we reviewed the macroeconomics review material for his final. We also reviewed a practice test from a previous semester. He went through the exam very well. He really knew a great deal about the material already but we focused on the money time value equations and we were able to work through these questions without difficulty. I asked him to review a few concepts in his text book and I followed-up with him to see if he need anything additional he did not.

Economics Tutoring review by Lynn in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
We reviewed the chapters she had covered in class which included CPI, inflation, unemployment, GDP, and present value. The student said she did well on her quiz and exam, but missed the question about CPI. The student was still confused by the reasons behind the equations for GDP and present value so she is going to look over those again.

The student and I had a great session where we focused on chapters 9 and 11 of his course text book. We broke down the chapters topic by topic and I challenged him to delve deeper each time to ensure higher order understanding. We are going to follow up with chapters 10 and 12 in our subsequent session.

Economics Tutoring review by Matthias in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
I first heard that they did fairly well on their exams, although I did not receive specific grades. They said that after the next class they will receive their exams and we will go over problems they had difficulty with. Today we went over chapter 7 on financial markets. I explained the relationship between lenders and borrowers, how financial intermediaries help allocate funds, how they price risk, the difference between debt and equity, how leverage increases the rate of return, and how limited liability functions. We also went through an example problem to calculate rate of return with leverage.

We reviewed an Excel worksheet that was assigned homework. We were working on the IS curve and how the interest rate affects output. We are going to meet again next week to cover the next chapter and prepare for an exam.

Economics Tutoring review by Andrew in San Francisco-Bay Area, CA
Very similar session to last time, as it went well. We did homework problems together today. The student is improving by reading the textbook before trying to answer the questions. She has a really positive attitude, and tries her hardest to get the correct answers.
