I truly love helping people, and I do so whenever I can. I am a very outgoing and friendly person, which translates well to working with students. I do my best to understand where the student is coming from and work from there. Currently, I am a student at Northeastern University, but I also work with people with disabilities in a marketing setting. I can tutor Math, Science and English, and I would love to help you anyway that I can!

Hello, I'm Emma! I'm excited at the possibility of becoming your tutor! Let's see if we would make a good matchA little about me I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at MGH Institute of Health Professions. I recently moved to South Boston from my home state of California to pursue my graduate degree and my ultimate goal of becoming a physical therapist. I graduated from UC Davis in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Biology and a minor in Psychology. My previous tutoring experience includes working as a tutor in the Psychology department at UC Davis, peer tutoring within the Exercise Biology department, and various peer-to-peer tutoring roles. At UC Davis I also worked as an Undergraduate Admissions Advisor where I gained extensive knowledge in college essay writing, and as a Campus Tour Guide where I honed my skill of public speaking. Prior to relocating to Boston I was building my career in physical therapy by working as a physical therapy aide in several outpatient orthopedic clinics and volunteering at the VA Rehabilitation Hospital. I am passionate about the health sciences and helping students achieve their academic goals. I am an original Harry Potter nerd and a sports fanatic. In my leisure time I enjoy being outdoors, watching sports, cooking, community volunteering and playing with dogs! How I can help youI've likely been in your shoes. I've been the student who has been frustrated with difficult assignments and seemingly useless subjects. However, through my partnership with tutors and a passion for knowledge I have acquired a broader context of the sciences and the study skills that have turned learning into an evolving process rather than a memorization task. I would like to share those skills with you and help YOU learn!I can help you:- Balance chemical equations- Understand the function of cells- Solve for 'x' in math problems- Learn human anatomy- Write your essay or speech- Give a successful public presentation- And much more! Please look over the list of subjects that I am available to tutor and contact me to set up your first tutoring session! I will gladly answer any further questions that you have about my qualifications in a direct message. Thank you for considering me to help you achieve academic success, good luck!

Every student experiences a class or subject that seems overwhelming. I've been there, and I've learned over the years that one of the best things to do in that situation is reach out to tutors for help! I myself used Varsity Tutors as a high school student and cannot emphasize enough how much it helped me.I am a student at the University of Connecticut, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology (which is also my favorite subject). I cover a wide range of subjects (social sciences, natural sciences, english, math) and have tutored in secondary, elementary, and early learning settings (especially in mathematics). I also have several years of experience working with children.I believe any academic concept can be taught to any student, as long as it is visualized in the way that reaches the student the best. I place a lot of importance on visual learning, diagrams, and analogies.Other than biology, I have a passion for drawing, playing the piano, running, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.

I'm a third-year undergraduate and experienced tutor at Boston University. In Feb/2021, I took the DAT (Dental Admissions Test) and scored in the 99th percentile with a 28AA. I most recently worked as a Research Assistant at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Neurobiology.I've been tutoring since high school and currently has nearly five years of direct tutoring experience. I am happy to support students with existing classroom assignments, or by introducing new materials to reinforce previous work. I believes that any subject can become easy by structured practice.I've taken coursework in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry, and many other science fields. He has performed extremely well in these classes and understands that success comes from the right "strategy" of concept learning and test-taking skill. I'm excited to share what I've learned to help my students excel in the classroom and beyond.

As a student at Boston University, achieving high academic desires and grades comes with work ethic. I have put countless efforts in taking many approaches in my academic career in a competitive environment. This has helped me understand that memorizing textbooks is not all to it learning, but it is the way of breaking down concepts and integrating it into applicable situations. I want to not only help students learn their desired material, but also to internalize it.I was born in Tokyo, Japan and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii gaining a deep understanding of both cultures. I am bilingual and can read, write, and speak Japanese at high business level. Even now, I constantly study the language because of how complex it is.I am also comfortable and confident in teaching K-12 subjects in math and also introductory college business courses such as financial accounting and introduction to business. I previously tutored math and Japanese in high school and had great time seeing their progression each week.On my downtime, I enjoy hiking the steep mountains of Oahu and body surfing in the warm waters that Hawaii has to offer. I also get quite heated in a game of chess..I look forward to helping you along the way in achieving your academic desires.

I have studied Chemical Engineering for the past five years. I have had the opportunity to ensure the quality of silver and gold, plate silicon with conductive metals, and develop test procedures for lithium ion batteries. Somewhere along the way, I discovered that I really enjoy working with other students and sharing what I've learned.I started off tutoring a couple of neighbors in high school. Now I work with classes of up to eight. I prefer the smaller setting so that it doesn't feel like I'm assuming the role of a teacher or a professor. My areas of specialization are broad. I enjoy the sciences, maths, English language, and dabble in history. When I'm not tutoring, you can probably find me studying, traveling, or in the kitchen.
