I am a junior at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania studying Economics, Finance, and Business Analytics. For the last few years, I have been helping students with college application and test prep help, such as college essays, common app, and SAT/Subject SATs. I came from a high school where these resources for college and SAT prep were not as readily available, so I want to work towards making college more accessible by helping students with their application. I'm a fourth year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania who is applying to pediatrics residency programs. I graduated in 2006 from Yale University with a bachelors degree in History. I subsequently completed a post-baccalaureate program at Bryn Mawr College to complete the premedical course work and matriculated into Penn's medical school. I took a year off from medical school between my third and fourth year to get a masters degree in education focusing on medical education but also learning a tremendous amount about K-12 education as well. I am a rising sophomore majoring in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science at Rice University in Houston, TX. Naturally, my favorite subjects to teach are math and computer science, particularly programming languages like Python, Java, and Scratch. I have found great enrichment in these seemingly daunting areas, and I hope to make them more easily accessible for others. As a founding member of the Ready for College Leadership club (RCL), I mentored high school freshmen and sophomores to help them succeed in high school and prepare for college admissions, while also providing academic aid. The best part of working with students is watching them grow not just as a learner, but also as a thinker. I always encourage students to be curious and let their true interests be incorporated into lessons. In my spare time, I love learning languages; I am a heritage Spanish speaker and a self-taught Portuguese speaker. I also enjoy playing guitar and practicing new songs to sing.

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in Classics and Theatre. However, my college uses the core curriculum and as a result, I've had a well-rounded, eclectic education covering everything from math to fine arts. I've won awards in community service, dance, and film, but most notably, 20 writing prizes before I reached eighteen. I was a National Merit Semi-Finalist in high school and I've had a passion for education and the art of learning since I was a child. I hope to instill in my students the love of amassing knowledge, excelling in your studies, and walking out of a test feeling like you rocked it. I especially had a passion for the Critical Reading and the Writing portions of the SAT's and the SAT 2 in Literature. I have teaching experience with everything from stand-up comedy to Emergency Medical Services to tap dancing, and I've been told that I am unmatched in my enthusiasm. In my free time, I like to perform sketch and improv comedy, dance, play the banjo, and volunteer in my local hospital.
