I recently graduated with honors from Stanford University, where I majored in Biology with a focus on Ecology and Evolution. During my undergraduate career, I was actively involved in biology research on campus. Now, I'm excited to share my love of science and learning through tutoring! I tutor Biology, Ecology, and standardized test prep. From high school to Stanford, I have learned that lectures are often difficult for students to follow. They can lose confidence in subjects because the information is not presented in a way that is effective for their learning. My job is to work with students to figure out the best way to learn challenging material. This may involve breaking down complicated ideas into consumable parts, discussing concepts back and forth, or working through practice problems together. Ultimately, I believe that students should never feel unintelligent because they don't immediately grasp a concept. I am committed to empowering students to approach challenging subjects with confidence.

I have obtained Master degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Massachusetts and Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Texas. I have extensive background and experiences in several fields including Mathematics, Physics and Engineering.I am interested in sharing my knowledge with students, in helping them understand the subject and solving problems. I believe a good tutor can provide guidance, leading students through a thought process in solving problems. A good tutor will motivate the student to think and propose his or her own solutions and develop independent learning.

Ever since I was a kid, I really couldn't learn unless I learned in a way that made sense to me. Multiplying by five was always multiplying by ten and cutting in half, and division was always how many twos do I need to add up to make six, NEVER how many times does two go into six? I figured out that learning was all about how you thought about stuff. I made up little phonetics and learned songs for memorization, and found myself doing really well in school. What I loved the most about this strategy, though, was that I could help explain things to my friends in ways they really understood. In French class, my teacher let me walk around class and help teach my classmates conjugations, and my friends asked me for help on their homework all the time. I loved helping them all out, and I loved being helpful. My sophomore year of high school, I had the opportunity to tutor one of the younger guys on my swim team in biology and I really enjoyed it so much that I tutored him the following year in chemistry. In college, I volunteer taught swim lessons, and even got to do volunteer GED tutoring in the Manson Youth Institution, a boys prison near my university. One summer, I started Skyping with a Parisian woman to better my French and I helped her learn English. I really enjoyed all of those experiences. Getting to know everyone and help them to accomplish their goals was really fulfilling plus, I got to skip an intro French class for the Skyping! In the future, Im hoping to do a program to teach English in France for a year, and am really looking forward to honing my skills as a tutor on this platform until then.
