...I spent my lunch hour tutoring students who were struggling in their classes. Initially, I found this difficult; it was a challenge determining exactly where a student's understanding of a topic was faulty. Over time, however, I developed a keener sense for the hurdles that students sometimes face when learning, as well as the most efficient ways to overcome them. I also developed more patience and empathy through tutoring - I often remembered feeling the...

This lets us work toward the same goal, and makes it simple to set milestones to get there. Any problem area in any subject can be broken into smaller and smaller pieces, until suddenly you realize there was never a problem to begin with.

I aim to arm those that I work with many tools in their approach to a given subject matter. These...

Receive personally tailored AIMS lessons from exceptional tutors in a one-on-one setting. We help you connect with the best tutor for your particular needs while offering flexible scheduling to fit your busy life. The Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards, or AIMS, is an exam that measures students' abilities in areas such as reading, writing, mathematics, and science. Depending on which level of exam your student is taking, they may be taking it to increase their chances of earning a scholarship into the college of their dreams. It is important for your child to earn a good score on this exam, and Varsity Tutors can help connect you with tutors who can help them study. Phoenix, Arizona, AIMS tutors are skilled professionals who are ready and willing to help your child prepare for test day.
The AIMS is a standards-based exam. The results are compared to the rest of the state to measure your child's results against the average test-taker. There are two versions of the exam. The AIMS 3-8 is given to students in third through eighth grades. Students in those grades are tested in reading and math. However, students in the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades also take a writing exam, while the fourth and eighth graders take a science test. The AIMS HS is given to students in the spring of their tenth-grade year and tests reading, writing, math, and science skills. If a student is not happy with their score, they can retake it in the 11th or 12th grade. Phoenix AIMS tutors can help your child prepare for whichever version of the exam they are planning to take.
