MY CREDENTIALS?
In addition to my degrees and training, I've taught
just about every type of student in just about every context:
University Research and Writing, Public Speaking, Middle and High School English,
Communication Cultural Norms, English to Speakers of Other Languages, and more.
MY TEACHING STYLE?
Some teachers are a "sage on the stage." They lecture on grammar rules,
verb conjugations, and noun forms. I, on the other hand, will be
a "guide on your side." I guide you through the process of using
and understanding English for real communication, where even mistakes are
okay because they help you understand what "works".
Truly learning English doesn't come from stuffing your head with
facts ABOUT it, it comes from practice USING the language to
share your ideas: real communication. That's how you master it!
Confucius said it best:
"I hear and I forget,
I see and I remember,
I do and I understand."
Just hearing a lesson, it usually fades; seeing, it might stick,
but doing it? That's when it sinks in.
MY JOB?
I will create sessions in which you experience using English correctly,
you understand how its parts work together to create powerful messages,
and you grow confident in your skill to use it.
MY OTHER INTERESTS?
When I'm not teaching, I love tackling challenges, figuring out how things work,
finding creative solutions, or mastering new skills. I may explore new ways to
communicate (innovative ways to use media), create and craft solutions to problems
(new ways to grow a garden), or study and learn new concepts
(especially AI and Quantum Mechanics). That curiosity and clarity shape how I teach too.
