I have always loved science and math and earned a Ph.D in Chemistry from Texas A&M University. I have developed and taught college level chemistry courses for majors and non-majors at various colleges and universities in TX, PA, and MN. My last part-time teaching gig was helping middle school students navigate their online math courses which included lots of one-on-one instruction.
Math and science often go hand in hand, and I love teaching both. Even at the college level, I found myself having to review foundational math concepts to freshmen students to ensure they could be successful in my courses.
I was a stay-at-home dad full time for fifteen years (four kids) so I have intimate knowledge of how children learn at various grade levels.
I strive to create a learning environment that is very interactive and use positivity, praise, and good humor to keep learners engaged and motivated.
I volunteer my time in multiple ways, including having worked with young people from first grade through high school in the Cub/Boy Scout program.
