I am a High School Science Teacher for the Independence School District. I teach AP Chemistry, Honors and General Chemistry, and Honors and General Biology. I have had experience in the past teaching Forensic Science and Anatomy & Physiology.
I got both my Masters in Science Education and my Bachelors in Biology from the University of Missouri - Columbia, where I also got minors in Psychology and Anthropology.
I tutor any subject area in elementary, middle school, or high school science, as well as select areas of college science (see my subject list). My strong points are biology and chemistry, and I am praxis certified to teach both in the state of Missouri. I also have a strong background in Math, and can tutor these subjects at a elementary, middle, or high school level. Feel free to contact me with other specific subject questions. I tutor my students after school 2-4 days per week so I have plenty of experience.
I currently live in North Kansas City with my fiancee and my pets (dog, cat, and lizard). Science is my lifelong passion, and discussing contemporary findings, scientific history, and futurism is something I love to do. I have particular interests in astronomy and science fiction. My fiancee and I love going on hikes, biking trails, exploring Kansas City, and watching way too much Netflix. I also have a personal interest in sports, and have experience coaching Football, Ice Hockey, and Track & Field. I am a lifelong St. Louis Blues fan, and enjoy watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings as well.
