I have just defended my master’s thesis on social behavior in a species of bird called the Golden-winged Manakin (a relative of the “Moonwalking Bird” on YouTube). Through my master’s program, I have three years of experience as a teaching assistant. I’ve taught freshman-level biology and zoology labs and held office hours to help students with population ecology classwork.
I think that the best ways to learn new material involve tackling concepts and the connections between them from different angles. I try to help students by presenting the material from different sides and letting them turn it around in their head and see it different ways. I’ve found this approach helpful both in teaching and in my own studying. I love teaching and learning, and I’m excited to help you do well in your own academic career!
