About Me

I am a graduate of Brown University, where I completed a double major in biology and public health, and received honors in the biological sciences. I am now a clinical research assistant. Throughout my education, a number of teachers have helped me to work toward my dream of attending medical school and becoming a pediatrician. I love tutoring because it is an opportunity to teach and inspire students, helping them to pursue their dreams as well. I have experience working with students of various ages in a wide range of subjects. I especially enjoy teaching biology, writing, and test preparation. My tutoring philosophy is to blend education with inspiration. I believe a great tutor not only teaches the material, but also helps students to become more effective learners. I often provide real-world examples to help students get excited about concepts. Also, I use practice problems so that my students can see their own improvement and gain confidence. These strategies help students to become better lifelong learners, and their benefits extend beyond the subjects I am teaching. In addition to teaching and learning, I love to exercise, play the acoustic guitar, read, and spend time with my loved ones (including my three dogs)!
