I'm incredibly passionate about math and CS and I want to help others dive into these topics. Math and CS did not come naturally to me and so I know what it's like to struggle through these subjects and what insights help in deeply understanding them. Depending on how curious a student is I'll help peel back the layers to show just how computers (or math) really work.

I have spent the past four years after graduating from University of Virginia (with a BA in Psychology) devoting my time to students. I have a Masters of Education in English and during the year I teach 9th graders reading and writing skills. On the weekends I have served as a writing specialist for seniors applying to college and during the summers I have worked as a writing and grammar instructor for 11th graders preparing to take the SATs. I am deeply knowledgeable on all things English, ranging from grammar and sentence structure to literary elements or shakespeare. I love helping students find strategies to master clarity of ideas and finding a persuasive, compelling voice. I am looking forward to working with you!

Throughout my life I have always valued education and the opportunities it creates. I first started tutoring during my sophomore year of undergrad for the Equal Opportunity Program at Buffalo State. Helping others has always been a passion of mine. I tutor mathematics and physics, both of which I will finishing bachelors degrees in this coming fall semester.In my free time I enjoy doing yoga and gardening. I also enjoy traveling and exploring the world. So far I have explored most of Europe while studying abroad in Manchester, England.

I am a graduate of USC's School of Dramatic Arts with a B.A. in Theatre and a minor in Musical Theatre. I love traveling, and was lucky enough to spend an entire year of my college career studying abroad in London. I studied Shakespeare and the classics and appeared in several productions while in London, all of which have contributed to my love of words. My passion for the arts extends to working with children and young adults. I have been a choreographer for middle school musicals for several years. I love working with kids, and have experience tutoring middle school students in Spanish, tutoring high school students in the ACT and SAT Verbal sections, guiding students through essay writing, and have worked with children with learning and behavioral disabilities, including those with ADHD and on the Autism spectrum.I believe in a patient, hardworking approach to test-taking and subject help. I am a strong proponent of open communication and active collaboration. I look forward to working together!

I am a recent graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied theatre, literature, language, and history. Prior to that, I attended Charter High for Arts and Multimedia School (CHAMPS) in Los Angeles California. At CHAMPS, I took a particular interest in theatre, as well as math and science. I graduated second in my class with top scores in AP Chemistry, AP English, and AP US History.In college I was the personal tutor of a fifth grader, whom I assisted with general homework aid and standardized test preparation. During the summers, I tutored students in various levels of mathematics at the high school where both my mother and my brother continue to teach. In high school, I was leader of the AP Chemistry peer help group and a freelance math tutor.I am most comfortable tutoring students in mathematics and the English language, but I also quite enjoy helping students cultivate their test taking skills. Every standardized test boils down to a game of strategy, which everyone can practice and win.I am a firm believer in the importance of cultivating joy and passion in each and every learning experience. I understand that everyone learns differently and every concept can be understood in a variety of ways. I strive to figure out how my students learn best and, more importantly, how they can do so with a new found joy and passion for the subject at hand.Outside of the academic arena, I love food and theatre above all else. I've also grown very fond of web and multimedia design. I am a total geek when it comes to languages, which has led me to a new found passion for travel. I am in process of learning Spanish and Italian, and I continue to better my study of the Russian and German languages. One day, I hope to attend graduate school in Germany and pursue a degree in comparative linguistics.

Many of my classes incorporated English and science so I have a strong foundation for these two areas. Since graduation, I have been tutoring children of all ages in reading and English. If writing a essay or analyzing a article is difficult for you, I can certainly help! While I tutor in science and other subjects, I am most passionate about English, Literature, and Reading. I have been tutoring since high school in a program called peer mentoring, where I worked one-on-one with students. I have seen students progress tremendously with my help and guidance. I am patient, creative with my lesson plans, and encourage students to implement the strategies we use in our lesson plans in their individual work. As an attorney who has lived and studied abroad, my teaching style is influenced by my broad experiences and big-picture mentality, understanding that students learn in different ways. I believe the most important thing in teaching is to frame the problem in a way that the student can understand what the bigger questions are, and to create their own frameworks to address issues without outside assistance. I also believe in encouraging consistent and efficient study habits so that students know how to study most effectively. Outside of work, I love to ballroom dance and explore the food scene in New York City.

I am a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics where I pursued pre-collegiate research in biology, and a current student of biology and public health at Columbia University in New York City. My entire professional experience has been centered on education and pedagogy. I began my tutoring journey amidst the pandemic, seeking to assist students who struggled with virtual education. Since then I have dedicated myself to assisting those who traditional learning environments are inadequate spaces for education. Each person learns differently and I have proven methodologies to adapt my teaching style to uniquely cater to each and every student.
