I have studied world religions, ethics, and business for a number of years. In my studies, I have been particularly attuned to the differences and the understanding of culture, survival, ethics, religion, and society between eastern and western dominant paradigms.From a practical standpoint, I have worked with the Kansas City Interfaith Council for several years. Through my contacts with people of different religious perspectives and different national background, I have come to appreciate how some perceived knowledge does not preclude other viewpoints. I would rather say that in most cases various systems of thought complement one another. Openness to other cultures, ideal, religious thinking, and practice allows for expansion and understanding of one’s own system knowledge.While teaching both religion and business, I have attempted to unite ideas from both disciplines to create more understanding as to why and how ideas are influenced by various constituent elements of society. I have taken advantage of any opportunity to have contact with students of diverse cultural backgrounds. By listening and being introduced to different cultural groups, I have been able to interact with and acquire and understanding of different culture from both the ideal and actual aspects of that culture.Education and learning are not accomplished in a vacuum. Learning is often enhanced by its application in real life situations and conditions. To this end, teaching is expanded when it consists of strong theoretical bases for perspective, wide understanding of the scholarly work of a discipline for depth within the field, and good grounding in practical application for constructive use of knowledge. Learning is a reciprocating process between students, teachers, and advancement of knowledge. Teaching may come from students as well as teachers, and each person in the classroom environment should be respected for their own worth as a person, and a rational human.

I graduated from Brown with a B.S. in mathematics this past May. Whether it's test prep, math, or writing, any skill or problem can be broken down into small steps and tackled bit by bit. This makes hard problems far less scary and produces steady reward for the solver. My role in your study will be to help you find the small components in a problem and tackle each one, and provide a patient voice of encouragement for you. If you practice solving any kind of problem this way, eventually you won't believe that you ever found any subject intimidating.

I know how challenging writing can be, as well as the importance of excellent writing skills. Writing skills are essential in conveying your message within the higher education environment. The writing level of any student can always improve, as enhancing these skills will help achieve higher education goals.

I believe that everyone can learn, provided the teacher finds the proper channel through which to reach the students.I was born in Martinique, raised in Paris where I studied latin, Greek and philosophy. I have a DUEL from University of Paris X/Nanterre. I later moved to New York City and Chicago where I obtained a Bachelors in jazz Performance/Upright bass. I also graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Education and from Vandercook College of Music with a Masters in Music Education. I have taught music in the chicago Public school system, as well as tutoring students of all ages in French, since it is my native language. I do miss speaking my language and I am still an avid reader of French literature, be it the classic or the most recent literature of the francophone world: Africa and the Caribbean.I am passionate about sharing my language and my culture and hope I can share this passion.

A recent WashU graduate, I am currently in my gap year while I apply to medical school. During my time in undergrad, I studied philosophy and biology; ultimately, I want to engage with human life and the human condition.

I am a recent graduate of Tulane University, where I received my Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. For my undergraduate years I attended Howard University in Washington, DC, where I was a Biology major and Chemistry minor. I have traveled to the Caribbean as well as to China for study abroad programs. While a student at Howard University, I worked with DC Public Schools as an elementary and middle tutor. I was also an assigned tutor for Biology and Organic Chemistry at Howard University. I am able to help with a variety of subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physiology, Genetics and other basic sciences. I can also help with AP Calculus if need be. My favorite subject to tutor is Biology because I have a passion for helping students understand how living organisms work. I feel it is my strongest subject, and I know I can help committed students learn the material. My tutoring style is geared towards making the experience of studying the material enjoyable for the student. I often use mnemonics and analogies to make the information more understandable. I also promote notecards to study as it improves retention of information.I am a very outgoing, friendly, and patient individual. I am able to travel to meet with clients, and if there is still difficulty with any subject, I will offer to tutor at a library or college. My parents are both college professors, so I know the value of a great education. I will be sure to work with students until they are satisfied and feel comfortable with any subject that I teach. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing and playing sports. I was a goalkeeper for my high school and played intramural soccer in college. I also play billiards and cards with friends on quiet evenings.
