How can Trigonometry tutoring help you succeed?

Trigonometry is the study of triangles, simply put. Specifically, it is the study of the relationship between sides and angles of a triangle. Have you ever heard of triangulation? That comes from the study of trigonometry, and it's how maps are made to accurate scale, and how we understand distances in space. It's a pretty important subject, but not always the easiest subject. You would think triangles are simple, but they really aren't. There are numerous formulas and laws to memorize, like the laws of sine and cosine, and the laws of tangents and cotangents. It may get pretty confusing, and it might be a good idea, if you are studying trigonometry, to get some individual help with the class. If you're looking for trigonometry tutors in Denver, CO, the educational directors at Varsity Tutors may be happy to help.

Our educational directors may find you an expert trigonometry tutor in Denver who may design a study plan that focuses on your specific needs. Where a classroom teacher has to move along at the pace of their syllabus, your tutor may move along at the pace of you. If you need a little extra time studying a specific trig formula or concept, they may slow down and use various teaching methods to try to help you completely understand it before moving on. And if you catch onto something quickly, you don't have to spend a whole class period sitting there bored out of your mind. Your tutor may move swiftly onto the next challenging topic.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Michael in Denver, CO
Continued to use trigonometric substitutions to "prove" various identities. Focused on the unit circle and all core ratios (sin and cos of 0, 30, 45, 60, 90, etc.). Discussed the various scenarios the student could encounter when using Law of Sines and Law of Cosines.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Kim in Denver, CO
During the session we worked on assessment tests for sections 4.2,4.3, and 4.4 and started section 4.5. We covered topics such as finding angles using trigonometric functions, inverse functions of trig identities, and using triangles to find side lengths and angles. The student seemed to understand the material once a formula was given. We also talked about the difficulty of not knowing what he did wrong on the previous assessment tests-- only grades were given.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Sean in Denver, CO
We went over the student's review questions for his upcoming test. Step-by-step, the student was able to tackle most of the questions on his own, with only a few hiccups (e.g. wrong sign, forgetting a number). His understanding of the concepts has been increasing; he only needs to practice the problems to get them down.

Changing sum of trig functions to a product of trig functions and vice versa. Proving identities using this method. Also went back to other trig properties like double angle and cofunction rules to solve identities. I feel she is getting what the teacher wants her to learn from the material.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Samantha in Denver, CO
We first looked over her chemistry exam, which went exceedingly well. Her two mistakes dealt with a calculator error and a slight misunderstanding of the question. In trigonometry, we reviewed the quadratic formula and the discriminant. I explained what a "root" is to the student, which helped to make sense of the use of the discriminant. She was able to properly use the discriminant formula. We practiced problems in which we used the discriminant in word problems to find out if certain dimensions for building a pool or for the inside of an ice cube were possible, which involved substituting for variables, an important pattern to learn especially with the topic of percent abundance in chemistry.

Trigonometry Tutoring review by Lee in Denver, CO
The student has a test in Trigonometry, so we did the test review together and then I picked some relevant problems from her chapter review and in the last section of the chapter. She seems to understand it when we're doing a problem. We did as much as we could for today.
