I am working towards a degree in biochemistry, and I have a passion for science and math! My tutoring style is to meet students where they are at, which means each tutoring session can vary based off of material, age, pace, learning style, or level of understanding. It is my promise to give each student a personalized, fun tutoring experience. In my free time, I love to read, play violin, and indulge in board and trivia games.

I am strongly committed to bringing students to mastery. To accomplish this, I thought it was important that I am trained and educated extensively in this field. This is why I have obtained not only a Bachelor's degree in education, but I have obtained a Master's degree as well. I'm Alyssa! I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology (with Honors and a 4.0 GPA!). I am a current Doctorate of Physical Therapy student at Texas Woman's University, continuing my education in Kinesiology and related subjects.

I am a responsive and talented educator offering tutoring to middle school, high school, and undergraduate students in the Humanities. I am a certified teacher with nearly 15 years of classroom teaching and tutoring experience and a Master's in Secondary Education. My favorite subjects to tutor are World History, U.S. History, Reading, Writing, Literature, and Spanish I. I am a huge component of constant feedback. A session may be wasted if feedback is only provided in the last five minutes. For this reason, I would help students stay motivated by maintaining a conversation over the material and relating to other interesting aspects of their life.

I am most passionate about Photoshop, Graphic Design, Digital media, and Animation. I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy singing which enriches my creativity, hiking, DIY Crafts, and playing softball.

I'm an undergraduate at UH-Clear Lake working on a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. I've tutored for about two years now, including a year working at San Jacinto College's Math Center. It was a great experience because it was very busy and I got the chance to help dozens of students every day. However, I enjoy one-on-one tutoring the most because there is less pressure to help as many people as possible. Instead, I can focus on a single student for the entire session.

I'm a firm believer that being bilingual has set me up for success in the workplace and all generations should have access to learn even outside the realm of traditional school.
