About Me

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education from The Pennsylvania State University. I have taught in a first grade classroom for four years. I have also taught English as a Second Language to elementary aged children. I have experience in tutoring children in one-on-one settings as well as teaching in after school clubs and summer camps. I have experience doing all of these things virtually, too! I am extremely passionate about teaching children how to read! My classroom will be an exciting place where children will feel confident about learning. It will be a place where your child can laugh and smile while they learn! I believe that all children have the ability to learn! I believe in building children's confidence to empower them throughout their learning. It is important to me that learning is engaging, enjoyable, and effective. I believe that children should be challenged to use deep level thinking skills in order to solve problems and learn. I believe in meeting all children where they are in order to meet their individual learning needs. I always take the extra steps to build a solid foundation for children's learning. I enjoy teaching children and helping them to build a love for learning. I prioritize building relationships with children so that our classroom is a safe place to take learning risks.
