About Me

I have loved math since I was 15, and I try to generate the same sense of discovery in my students. I have applied math to aerospace engineering, information technology, super computing, and investment. It remains a hobby and a source of challenges that never ends! I focus on the new IB syllabus, and on SAT, ACT and GCSE math, and my students are usually in High School, up to College. They work in a test environment, so that while we are learning where their weaknesses are and teaching them, we are always working in the context of the exam. I use my own software and test suites, and focus on three things: accuracy (do they understand the math); comprehension (translating exam questions into math that they understand); and (very important) time management and shortcuts. For younger students I focus on helping them to really understand the methods used in different areas of math and, where possible, in an appropriate test environment. I have tutored more than 500 students, and have commendations from most of them.
