After volunteering as a tutor in middle school, I quickly realized how rewarding it is to help someone of any age pursue their learning goals. I graduated from University High School with Honors in 2016, and I currently am a student at Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, pursuing concurrent degrees in Political Science and Russian. Social Studies subjects, as you might have guessed, are my favorite subjects to tutor; however, having extensive experience working with elementary and middle school students, I feel comfortable with math, reading, writing, and science at those levels. Additionally, after taking a large amount of AP's in high school, I am well versed in the requirements to score well on these tests. Tutoring is a means to foster the "independent learner" within every student, and through developing a participatory relationship with the student, I believe this can be accomplished in a cordial and respectful manner. Beyond academics, I love to hike or go for an early morning bike ride followed by a nice home cooked breakfast. I enjoy reading a variety of books, from histories to science fiction; singing (mostly in the shower); and when it's the season, strapping on my skis and heading to the nearest mountain.
