About Me

Tutoring is about providing a student with the tools to think well and then apply those thoughts in conversation, writing, and action. I have experience as a tutor, supplemental instructor, and mentor as well as a love for discussion outside of a work environment. As a Philosophy Major, I know the structure necessary to build strong arguments. I believe providing this structure to other learners allows them to build strong arguments as well, but in their own way. The goal of tutoring is not to provide one correct answer, but to encourage the student to think and succeed individually. In terms of Philosophy, I am best suited for a student considering Anchient, Modern, Existential or Ethical topics. I am most acquainted with the works of Aristotle, Plato, Aquinas, Boethius, Descartes, Kant, Mill, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Sartre and Camus. I have a thorough understanding of such ethical approaches as Virtue Ethics, Kantianism, Utilitarianism and Cultural Moral Relatavism. If you are looking to strengthen your knowledge in any of these areas, I am more than capable of helping.
