I am currently a fourth year Bio Engineering student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA with a focus on neural engineering. I have extensive tutoring experience in Mathematics and other subjects, tutoring children and High school students. I love to make math fun and engaging, and am good at simplifying complex ideas so that they are easier to understand and master.

I graduated from UW-Madison this past spring with a degree in Microbiology and a certificate in Global Health. Currently, I study the immunogenetics of non-human primates. In my collegiate career, I worked with struggling elementary students on their reading comprehension, taught a summer science program at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, and volunteered with an after-school engineering club at the Goodman Center. I also held the position of Resident Assistant for two years with University Housing, where I served as an academic and mental health resource for seventy-eight first year students. I tutor all grade level science courses and I particularly love working with Chemistry, Biology, and Physics courses. I also work with ACT and MCAT preparation. I believe in "working smarter" by using study tricks, participating in engaged learning, and helping you find your style of learning. In my spare time, I play rugby, read books about interesting microbes, and walk my yellow Labrador.

I felt lost after graduating from Savannah College of Art & Design with my BFA in Photography. Not because I regretted majoring in photography, but because I didn't find my niche. You know, the one avenue of photography that you are supposed to stick to and focus on as a career. I tried a lot of different genres of photography--fashion, music, event, headshot, commercial, food--to finally realize what I am supposed to focus on in photography, teaching & art.My personal mission: Promote creativity and confidence through photography as a process and art form. It starts with learning the basics of the camera, exposure, and composition. I would love to see you in class.

I graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a BSE in Chemical and Biological Engineering and a certificate in German Language and Culture. I am currently working towards my MD/PhD degree at Michigan Medical School.I have experience tutoring students of all ages, ranging from 1st grade to graduate school. I differentiate my tutoring strategies according to each individual's needs. My favorite subjects are math (from arithmetic to AP calculus), SAT test prep, chemistry, biology, reading, and writing.I am very passionate about learning and enjoy tutoring because I know how it feels to be a busy student who needs some extra help. I have a BA in Journalism from The University of Panama, and have traveled extensively in the United States and abroad, interacting with many people of different backgrounds, ethnicity, and social, financial and academics levels. I have previously worked as a reporter for newspapers, magazines and most recently I have been teaching conversational Spanish, basic Spanish grammar, Spanish reading and composition to beginning, intermediate and advanced government and private students from teenagers on up.Teaching has been a rewarding experience for me. It has given me the opportunity to help my students open the door to a different, exciting world of understanding and communicating in an additional language to their own, and an opportunity to know a different culture. Patience, persistence, practice, and working together as team to build a firm confidence in my students to speak, read and write Spanish is at the core of my philosophy of teaching.Understanding the goals and needs of my students is a top priority for me, and I make the goals of my students my goals. Respect for the confidentially and privacy of my students, is also important to me.I have only recently moved to Florida and have been enjoying the wonderful weather, the sun and walking along the ocean. I love reading in several languages, like to watch American and international detective mysteries, classic movies, and I love Latin American, Mediterranean and Asian dishes, especially Thai and Vietnamese food, and Chinese breakfast dim sum.

I have been a supplemental instructor for organic chemistry for 2 years and I have helped native speakers in French and English to learn the other language. I help students with their goals by creating a plan with several smaller goals to achieve a larger overall goal. It is important to communicate with transparency about these goals, the student's progress, and the student's educational needs.
