As a lifelong educator, my goal is to make the process fun, relevant, and exciting. Helping students find value in what they do is important as is the moment in which students have their "aha" or lightbulb moment, when a concept is mastered!

It is my pleasure to see students confidence grow and enjoy the learning process, not just race to the end result. Having worked with varying ages and levels of learning has given me the patience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills it takes to help students to achieve their goals.I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in International Relations, with a Minor in Spanish. I enjoy travelling, meeting and getting to know people from different countries and cultures, reading, sports (especially football/soccer and tennis) and outdoor activities.I hope to use my international experience, love of learning and teaching to broaden my students' horizons and help them to realize their potential.

Ever since I was in middle school, I wanted to be a teacher. I was inspired by my science teacher, who always had a way to make us laugh while teaching science. I got my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from FIU. I have taught in private and public schools for 7 years. I won Rookie Teacher of the Year once. I have high recommendations from my previous principals from the different schools which I have worked in. I recently took a break from teaching in the public schools in order to spend more time with my kids, as they are heavily involved in sports and other school and church related activities. I also wanted time to pursue other personal goals in my life. Last school year, I started offering private tutoring at a public library. I love the flexibility from private tutoring. I have several students who I tutor during the week. I have experience tutoring kids of different ages. I myself have two children, one who is 8 and the other one who is 16 years old. I have taught grades K-6th. I love all subjects, but my favorites are reading, writing, and math.I have my own resources, but if your child already has his or her own materials, I can work with that, too. I'm very flexible in my strategies and always give feedback to the parents after the tutoring sessions. My ideal parent-tutor-student relationship would be to work with a student for a minimum of 3 months, so that I may enjoy seeing the student's growth. I never like leave a tutoring session without a feeling of accomplishment. I consider myself an excellent teacher.

Howdy! I can't wait to help you learn! I have been tutored a lot throughout my schooling and I am excited to return the favor. I recently graduated with a bachelors in Cell and Molecular Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. I love to tutor biology, it is so fascinating to learn about. I am constantly learning more and am amazed by the questions students ask me that urge me to keep learning. I also enjoy tutoring en Espanol which I learned from my parents growing up and continued to learn throughout high school. My tutoring philosophy is: the struggle is good! So often we students get frustrated learning difficult concepts. When we embrace the struggle and work hard, true learning happens and it feels so good! I want to help students push through that struggle and achieve what they thought was impossible. When I am not tutoring I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, hiking, and camping.

I am a graduate of University of La Sabana in Colombia, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2020 and ever since I was a student in High School I've had a passion for tutoring classmates. During my college years I traveled through Western and Central Europe and Hong Kong learning about political economy, conflict management and debate skills. I'm a native Spanish and English speaker, and since 2018 I started tutoring K-12 and college students in the areas of English & Spanish (grammar, speaking, listening, reading and writing), social studies, history, geography, philosophy, economy, government, standardized tests and writing in both English and Spanish. I love helping others achieve their academic goals by making tutoring sessions an enjoyable experience, making students feel comfortable enough to ask questions and learn in their own rhythm.

I have a Bachelor of Arts from The College of William and Mary. I studied English and Environmental Studies, and tutored writing at the Writing Center all through college. I love working on all kinds of writing and reading, however, as an English major, I will always have a special love for literature and fiction! I am a firm believer that education is the great equalizer, and I hope that through education, every student may find passion and fulfillment. Other than tutoring, in my spare time I enjoy any kind of outdoor activities, Harry Potter Marathons with friends, and planning my next camping trip.

I am a graduate of the College of William and Mary. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies with a concentration in history and minors in Economics and Teaching ESOL. After graduating in 2019, I joined Teach For America and moved to Miami to teach in a Title I school. This year, my students' scores surpassed both school-wide and county-wide averages in every Language Arts metric (iReady, Performance Matters, FSA Writing) and at interim testing in December, more than 80% of my students had already achieved their annual growth targets in both vocabulary and reading comprehension. While my certification and the bulk of my experience is in teaching English, I also enjoy working with students in preparation for standardized testing. I believe that students succeed when learning is a game rather than a chore. I strive to make subjects not just accessible but exciting, tailoring materials and activities to student interests. When I'm not working with students, I enjoy reading, tennis, long road trips, and anything outdoors!
