English Grammar and Syntax Tutoring review by Michael in Denver, CO
Finished our last lesson. We reviewed for Ch. 18 Part B test, switching verbs from present tense to past tense, paying special attention to the irregulars. He scored a 96%! The student has made such great progress during my time with him and I wish him the absolute best on his future academic endeavors.

English Grammar and Syntax Tutoring review by Karen in Denver, CO
Class # 2: • Topics o Reviewed words starting on S (staff, spices), in TH (thousand), or ending in -ed (worked, danced). o Pronunciation of alphabet. o Reinforced Vocabulary: WEATHER, SEASONS & related items. o Pronouncing verbs ending in "-ed" (danced...) • We worked on: fluidity, speak slowly and project your sound. • Attitude: The student is so sweet and I can see her really paying attention and rehearsing her pronunciations. I can see she is determined! • Encouraged: She should realize she has an advantage by speaking 2 languages, and whatever accent she does have can actually make her more interesting and perhaps even exotic for others to hear. She should be proud that she has a rich culture; her accent will soften as it has up to this point. I want her to accept herself where she is at and keep working for improvement. • Homework: o Play and repeat the recording we made in class. Revisit the vocabulary we reviewed today ? o Look up lyrics for "journey through my soul" o Keep practicing the "H" sound. o Remember to repeat each word and pause and consciously pronounce those final letters. • WIN: You have a very good vocabulary, and it just keeps getting greater with the review :) • UP NEXT: o I will send you the link for your book later today for you to purchase. o You will be quizzed on the vocabulary we worked on I want to hear "H," "R" & "W," "Third," "boots," "Wood," "would," "Hoodie," "Hurricane," "Sand," "Lightning," "Earthquake," "Dozen", "Orchid," "leaf," "leaves," "ear muffs," "Gloves," "Poncho" & "Tights."

English Grammar and Syntax Tutoring review by Brian in Denver, CO
The first part of the session was spent helping the student prepare for his upcoming vocabulary test. The student and I reviewed the vocabulary two times to assist with comprehension and understanding. The student and I also began the reading for the novel, "Lord of the Flies." There were about 15 questions that the student and I covered to help with the understanding of the concepts and characters in the book.

I met with the student to begin coverage and reading of Witch of Blackbird Pond. Although we have yet to reach any questions, we made progress through the first three chapters of the book.

English Grammar and Syntax Tutoring review by Adriane in Denver, CO
The student reviewed the first three scenes of Act 4, and completed homework questions for each one. His teacher sent an email to the student's mother indicating that homework had not been submitted and therefore received a grade of 0, but the student's returned homework is regularly in the A range. I've asked the student to request a detailed summary of his grade this semester to account for any homework that might have been incorrectly recorded. I want to make sure that the student receives proper credit for the work that he is currently doing!

English Grammar and Syntax Tutoring review by Ramiro in Denver, CO
The student and I discussed two major assignments. One was her English assignment, which was a self-assessment on her previous work of two essays. I supervised as she finished her essay and worked on the conclusion. She is a great writer, and she works hard to come up with the best work possible. She can be too hard on herself, and she needs to stay aware of her tendency to break down if the ideal conditions are not present. We will work together to practice staying calm and even-keeled, even when the going gets rough.
