Hello, my name is Briana and I currently teach Kindergarten. I obtained my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education from Spelman College and am certified to teach Pre-K through 5th Grade in the state of Georgia. I am passionate about learning different ways to service my students. I hold an endorsement in Talented and Gifted Education (TAG) and currently am enrolled in a program to earn an endorsement in Teacher Leadership.I like to encourage students to tap into their style of learning so whether that is visual, auditory, or kinesthetic it can be accomplished even virtually. I look forward to working with you and your student to help them achieve their goals.

I recently graduated from Kenyon College with a double major in Studio Art and Biology. I have tutored Biology, Maths, German, and ACT prep. For several summers, I interned at the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) at Georgia Tech. I served as a camp counselor for the Center's camps. These programs' participants ranged from elementary to high school students. I kept their schedules, interacted with parents, supervised activities, and aided the instructors. Last semester, I also tutored an introductory biology course for non-majors at Kenyon College. I sat in on lectures and provided weekly and occasionally bi-weekly assistance outside of class at the college's Math and Science Skills Center. This job required a great deal of creative thinking, as I often had to explain a concept from different perspectives for the students and push them to discover answers for themselves.

I am currently an enrolled student at Kennesaw State University. I am currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and once I get my degree in Mathematics, I plan to work for a PhD in the subject. As it can be seen, I am very passionate about mathematics, as well as critical thinking in general. Not only am I interested in learning the material, but I am also passionate in making sure others can get the same learning experience. In my freshman year of KSU, I helped a fellow student who was struggling in her calculus course by teaching her all of the course material in my own pace. I realized the best way to teach is to make the learning experience interactive and engaging, going at the pace of the student in need. I look forward to offering my support to help fellow students in need!

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia. While in college I was employed by the University as a Math Tutor having tutored fellow college students through the Division of Academic Enhancement program for almost a year. I have extensive experience tutoring college-level Pre-calculus topics, including algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and Calculus I and II. I have also tutored Elementary Ordinary Differential Equations. In college I was a College Reading and Learning Association certified level II tutor. Besides having a genuine enthusiasm for math, I enjoy helping others share that enthusiasm and understand its concepts. I also understand the importance of mastering the basics and can empathize with those who don't *get* math as that once was me. Rather than simply letting students watch me do their homework, I make each problem a cooperative effort and gradually help each student become less and less dependent on outside help.

I am an undergraduate student at Kennesaw State University, pursuing a Bachelor in the Arts of English alongside a Minor in Professional Writing. Since I was a kid, I've loved reading and writing. After graduating, I decided to share my expertise with other students, and realized that English is a subject many students struggle in. It is a difficult subject to teach, but an important one in our day and age; whatever a student's aspirations may be, a firm grasp of reading and writing is an essential skill.That's why I'm so passionate about tutoring this subject. In a large classroom, it can be hard to take the time to give each student the personal attention they need. Every student's level of understanding is different, so I believe in offering specific, personalized help for students who want to improve their writing.
