GMAT Tutoring review by Juan in Denver, CO
Yesterday's session went great as always. We reviewed mechanical energy since that will be a major component of her test. We clarified any conceptual questions that she had and we also went over the questions she got wrong on her test. The majority of the points that where taken off were because of mathematical errors, so all she has to do is go over her work when she is done with her test.

Met the student for first time to assess where he's at in terms of GMAT. Did Math Diagnostic in a prep book. He actually has all of the math knowledge he needs for the GMAT. Now he needs to practice how the math is used, including back-door strategies. Also discussed the adaptive nature of the test, and what that means in terms of early versus late questions, getting a string of questions right or wrong, and how scoring works. Did some Sentence Corrections and Critical Reasoning questions. We'll concentrate on these the next session. .

GMAT Tutoring review by David in Denver, CO
Since last week the student had completed most of a practice test and we discussed the results. Clearly, his primary area of improvement will be math, although he can improve his verbal and written scores also. I intend to exploit the practice material, worksheets and a website used by my school in China to build up his proficiency in math. Today we continued to work through the early part of the text, we covered elimination methods for the math section, data sufficiency question techniques, and some basic arithmetic concepts (digits, integers, etc.). We covered up to page 89. After the lesson I sent him a long email regarding homework to be completed over the next several days, this included textbook material and arithmetic practice from the website I recommended.
