It is my goal to help students fulfill their potential and learn the skills they will need to succeed in their academic and vocational pursuits and become lifelong learners.I graduated from Brigham Young University in 2016 with a degree in Teaching Social Sciences. I enjoy tutoring in all subjects, but I particularly enjoy Writing, Spanish, and Social Sciences. In my spare time I enjoy watching movies, writing, reading, and eating buttered popcorn.

Teaching for over 30 years, I have taught children from K-12th grade. The younger students are a joy to work with. Graduating from University of Wyoming, I received a Bachelor degree in both Elementary and Special Education. Working with students to be successful has been a passion for my teaching year. I had an opportunity to teach online for Utah Virtual Academy and also taught Korean children online, the proper usage of the English language. Throughout my years of teaching I have taught in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and Hawaii. My favorite I enjoy teaching is Language Arts at the Elementary level, Middle School level and High School level. Math is another plus at the elementary level and Middle school level. When I'm not teaching I enjoy working and researching Family History, writing children's stories and traveling with my sisters.

I believe all students can learn at a high rate given sufficient time and sufficient support.I have taught High School Physics and High School Chemistry for 10 years at a variety of levels. I have found that when students can make connections to real world topics they are much more likely to understand the content in chemistry and physics.I honestly believe that students need a variety of ways to internalize information. For the chemistry course I taught to ESL students, I made podcasts for them with each of the objectives I needed for them to acquire and encouraged them to view these video podcasts to increase their understanding of the content. During classroom time, I would spend the majority of the time making connections to real world situations. These video podcasts were uploaded to a you tube channel fore easy access.

I desire to help students learn as efficiently as possible by playing to their strengths and supporting their weaknesses. I always ensure that the student understands the material before moving on.

I am graduate of the University of Utah, with a bachelor's in Economics, a minor in Spanish, and a master's in Nutrition Science. As you can tell from my educational profile, I haven't been able to settle with just one subject -- they're all too enticing! While I really like learning, I have always loved teaching. When I was seven, I set up a home summer school for my little brother and sister to teach them math and reading. Ever since then, I have looked for ways to keep learning and sharing all the cool things there are to know in this world. I am also a registered yoga teacher and am currently working with over twenty Suzuki violin students. I have tutored a broad array of academic subjects, but my special favorites are English and literature. I really believe anyone can learn anything with step-by-step processes and a little motivation.

Before college, I lived in Japan, tutoring people of all ages in English and would have group conversations (Eikaiwa) with them. I also tutored privately with anyone with the desire to learn. After returning home to America three years ago, I have tutored over 300 young adults ranging between ages 18-25, assisting in their Japanese language learning. With a focus on tutoring languages, I am most passionate about Japanese. Having over four years of experience teaching both English and Japanese, I enjoy and excel in helping all improve their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. I enjoy being able to meet students of all personalities and helping them meet and overperform their expectations in learning.
