How can a Accounting tutor help you?

Accounting is a course of study that some people love and bores others to tears, but if you're currently taking it, don't let your feelings be the reason you fall behind in your class. No matter which concepts you are finding difficult, a private tutor is ready to help. Varsity Tutors can assist you in your search for an accounting tutor in St. Louis, Missouri, who can work with you at a time and place that works best for you; face-to-face online session are even an option.

St. Louis accounting tutors can work with you one-on-one to help you drill on concepts you may find confusing, such as accounts receivable vs. accounts payable, liabilities, and substance over form. This means there is plenty of time for you to ask questions of your tutor. This is not something you may be as likely to do in a classroom setting. You can also pick and choose which topics to cover with your tutor, skipping areas you already understand and focusing your time and energy on those you do not. This allows for efficient and effective tutoring sessions. You can then go over each area as quickly or slowly as you need. Perhaps your instructor is flying through the material at a rate that does not allow for you to really absorb the information being taught. If this is the case, your tutor can slow down and meticulously cover concepts that you may have missed in class. Likewise, if you're becoming bored with the class because the instructor is moving too slowly, your tutor can work with you on upcoming lessons – giving you a head start on future chapters in the course.

Session Summaries by Accounting Tutors

Accounting Tutoring review by Roger in St. Louis, MO
On this day, the student and I reviewed chapters for his test on Monday. Of the four chapters covered on this test, he was most concerned about one, chapter 19. We focused the majority of the time on that chapter and quickly reviewed the other three. Overall, he did fine understanding chapter 19 and was sharp on the other three. He will reach out again when he needs to get ready for his next test.

Accounting Tutoring review by Raymond in St. Louis, MO
Today we went over one of the student's practice tests. These problems covered all of the topics from her class so far; measures of central tendency, categorical data, split frequency tables, quantitative data, correlations, regression, and probability. She has an exam next Tuesday so we should be able to fit in one more session right before her test. She's going to do another practice test this weekend, so hopefully most of this information is going to consolidate by the time we meet next Tuesday.

Accounting Tutoring review by Chandler in St. Louis, MO
We spent the whole session working through some homework that the student was having trouble with. The homework consisted mostly of math problems relating to CPI, the GDP deflator, real and nominal interest rates, and inflation. He does best when he has mathematical formulas to work with. He can recognize which formula to use, identify the variables he's given, and solve for the variable he's looking for. But he has more difficulty relating those formulas to real life and understanding what the numbers represent.

Accounting Tutoring review by Liban in St. Louis, MO
Performed a final review on regression analysis and ANOVA. The student had a little trouble distinguishing between the two and how problems would ask for such analysis. By the end of the session she felt more confident in her abilities and was ready for her exam on Friday (she ended up passing).

The student is preparing for a comprehensive final. He understandably has forgotten some of the material from early in the year, but he can do well with study. We will have another session to get him ready.
