About Me

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with two degrees in Communication Studies and English with a minor in Rhetoric and Public Advocacy. I am also a part of the Phi Beta Kappa honors society. Before attending UNCG, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wake Technical Community College with an Associate of Arts degree. I have won awards for both Public Speaking and Presentation, as well as Writing, specifically in the categories of Creative Writing, Academic Writing, and Personal Narratives. My highest honor is winning UNCG's 2024 English Excellence Award for my superior academic achievement in the Rhetoric and Public Advocacy minor. While my awards demonstrate my dedication to academic success, my time at UNCG's Writing Center demonstrates my dedication to the success of others. I completed an intensive 5-month practicum learning the history and methodology of teaching before completing a year as a Writing Center Consultant and Writing Center Student Mentor. During this time, I had the privilege of working with students from all backgrounds, life situations, and skill levels. Helping students overcome personal challenges, find success in their studies, and, ultimately, build their confidence, quickly became one of the biggest joys in my life. My philosophy is to meet students right where they are with compassion and understanding, regardless of their circumstances, and help them grow as both students and people. I also believe in the establishment of mutual respect and responsibility between tutors and their students.
