With years of experience as an educator, I have had the pleasure of educating students from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. I am qualified to teach students between the ages of 4-13. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern State University and a Master's in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Oklahoma. I am passionate about education and helping students to succeed in the ever-changing world.
The subjects I tutor are Elementary School, Elementary School Math, Elementary School Reading, Elementary School, Science, Elementary School Writing, English, Math, Phonics, Presentation Skills, Reading, STAAR, Science, Study Skills, Study Skills, And Organization, Writing, and Test Prep. My favorite subjects to tutor are Phonics, Reading, and Writing. These are my favorite subjects to tutor because literacy is at the center of all success for academic achievement.
My teaching philosophy is to make each time I meet with a student as engaging and as productive as possible. I believe a teacher should adjust to the student's needs by using strategies that best fit each student. I learned it's best to develop reasoning and critical thinking skills by asking open-ended questions and counseling the learner to form his or her inferences about topics. I have helped students achieve academic goals by filling knowledge gaps, modeling, and providing opportunities for students to practice knowledge to reach their intended goals.
