About Me

I am a graduate of SUNY Binghamton, with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature. During college, I was an exchange student in Spain, and since graduation, have traveled to six continents. Previously I was a Teacher's Assistant in a public elementary school in Manhattan, where I had the rewarding opportunity of teaching and coaching beginning reading, writing and math skills within both a kindergarten and a 1st grade integrated co-teaching (ICT) classroom. In addition, I've taught academic subjects to 6th and 7th grade students in a unique, dual language, bilingual Spanish school in Brooklyn. Many of these students were ESL learners who were simultaneously struggling with learning disabilities and/or hearing impairment. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, my primary passion is languages, including Spanish, French and Italian, and as an avid reader, I also enjoy Literature and English. I find it exciting to see that spark of joy in a child's eyes when teaching young students, as they grasp a new concept or ascend to a higher reading level. I possess a strong belief in giving back to the community, as well as an enthusiasm for lifelong education. My credo is,"it's never too late to learn something new". Besides reading, in my spare time I enjoy cooking, crossword puzzles, travel, and working out.
