I attended Yale University and the University of Texas at Austin where I majored in English and minored in Philosophy. I recently completed a Masters in Professional Counseling at Texas State University. I first began tutoring while teaching ESL for two years in Taiwan after college. It was a great experience! Alongside teaching classes, I tutored individual students and adults in English language arts, and led SAT prep and humanities study groups at the Princeton Review. I love teaching and tutoring and am passionate about what my father, a former university professor, calls “the world of ideas.” In particular, I am interested in literature, poetry, and the mechanics of writing, as well as issues related to psychology, philosophy, economics, and history. My long-term career goals include bringing together my training as a therapist and my background in education by working in higher education counseling settings.
