My goal when tutoring is to not only help students learn how to get the right answer but help them understand why that answer is correct. I've found that one of the main reasons students struggle is due to a lack of interest in the material and that this can be solved by making the learning process more personal and engaging.

I earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Georgia State University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Composition and Rhetoric from from the University of Georgia with a certificate in Interdisciplinary Writing.I concentrated my English coursework in composition and rhetoric in many disciplines including everything from Chaucer to Graphic Novel Theory. I can offer assistance in basic to advanced Reading Comprehension, Grammar skills, essay and research development skills and advanced writing and editing techniques. I have always had broad scientific interests, spanning several scientific disciplines, which was a primary driving agent in my pursuit of an integrative bachelor's degree in that it allowed me to take a variety of these underpinning science courses. I strongly believe these courses can be exciting, and that they hold the potential for opening many avenues of student self-discovery. I feel that helping students flourish in these introductory courses not only builds self-confidence (along with better grades), but also builds self-insight and self-awareness that can help broaden and direct future trajectories and choices down the road.Outside of academic-related activities, I especially enjoy the outdoors and endurance sports.
