I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and have a masters in elementary education. I am thrilled with the opportunity to help others with all aspects of healthcare, including health information management, medical coding, medical auditing, and clinical terminology! I have a BS in Community Health Education and an MS in Health Information Management. My professional experience includes operational implementation of procedure and diagnosis codes for an HMO, Medicare policy quality review, healthcare consulting and auditing evaluation and management services, and education for implementing ICD-10 codes. I am a graduate of Minnetonka High School and an incoming freshman at the University of Minnesota. I have done 2 years of classes at the University of Minnesota through the PSEO dual credit program. I have worked as an educator in multiple environments, ranging from a 7th grade classroom to the deck of an eighty foot sailboat!As a published writer and public speaker, my specialties are with literature, essay writing-- anything to do with language and storytelling.I have given lectures and performances at places like Yale, Harvard, UC San Diego, and Carleton College, to name a few.This year, I was awarded a Fulbright teaching grant to teach English in South Korea.My approach to education: Patience. Working as a fine artist is an excellent way to indulge my interest in a variety of subjects from the role of free speech in society to the history of suburban development.I enjoy tutoring because of the opportunity it provides to encourage students' intellectual curiosity. Why math is strongest subject, I tutor some statistics and computer science (Python is my favorite language) courses. Most importantly, I love learning and teaching others about math!My favorite subject to tutor is Calculus, in particular Calculus 1, because I love the depth of intuition one can achieve by thinking about topics visually. I classify my teaching/tutoring style as Experimentalist, in the sense of John Dewey, because I believe that learning is best done through hands-on experience.
