I am originally from France (born and raised in the very South West), and moved to the U.S. four years ago.In 2011, after finishing my undergrad in English (literature, civilization and linguistics), with a minor in Teaching French as a Foreign Language, I had he opportunity to move to North East Ohio to teach French in a small university. In 2013, I was back in America, but in Delaware this time, where I started a Master's program at the University of Delaware, double majoring in French Literature and Second Language Pedagogy. While studying, I also taught French at UD for two years, co-teaching French 3 and 2 during my first year, and teaching my own classes of French 1 and 3 my second year.After graduating in May 2015, I stayed at UD over the summer to teach English as a Second Language at UD's English Language Institute.Finally, I moved to Baltimore in August 2015 where I taught Advanced French Speaking and Writing for a semester at the Johns Hopkins University. I also taught a night class for the Alliance Franaise in Baltimore.Apart from my professional and academic background, I love to read (17th and 20th century French lit, or really any good 20th and 21st century American novel), and watch probably too many tv shows (ranging from comedy to drama with the sometimes guilty pleasure of bad reality tv). I love to travel and always look forward to my trips back home to see my family in France.

I relate well to students and understand how to break concepts down into digestible bits. My passion for figuring out how things work translates to a rich variety of examples to use to help students learn within the context of something they are interested in. I have taught college-level math and high school-level Chemistry, Physics, and Pre-Calculus for 13 years. I have tutored students in upper level math and science formally for 8-9 years (and informally). While my talents and interests are in the Science and Math arenas, I also enjoy cooking and reading novels. My strongest belief as a tutor is that learning should be fun while being effective. I am a techie and love using technology to help keep learning interesting and fun. I have lots of real world experience to use as examples for the topic under study, and I look forward to helping you achieve academic success!

I have been a private tutor for about 2 years. I have worked with a wide range of students, from elementary students as well as tutoring at the college level for upper level science courses. Being a recent college graduate, I believe I am able to connect with students more easily and understand their perspective when approaching difficult topics. I have experience working with and teaching kids through Boy Scouts and through volunteering at summer camps locally and abroad in Italy. I am planning on majoring in History, Political Science, and Secondary Education or Educational Studies. I also worked in my local synagogue as a Hebrew School teacher for 1st and 5th grade students, so I have had experience with all ages of children. Additionally, in college, I participate in a program called Each One Teach One. WashU has partnerships with St. Louis Public Schools and students to go schools once a week and tutor the kids as a way to give back to the community.I want to start as a teacher after graduation, get my master's degree, and move into education policy. I have known I wanted to be a teacher for a long time and cannot see a better way of fulfilling my desires than tutoring.

I graduated from Northeastern University in 2012 with a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience, and currently work in Clinical Research at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. I have a strong science background, having earned a 4.0 in my major, and am able to help with all ranges of Biology, Chemistry, and Organic chemistry. In my free time I enjoy running, writing poetry and short stories, and traveling.
