I'm a senior at California Lutheran University pursuing a Bachelor's in Computer Science. I've had two years of math tutoring experience with high school and middle school level students. Math is my favorite subject to tutor because I enjoy the challenges of problem solving and being able to share the study habits that made me successful with those that need help. I personally feel math is the funnest subject to learn once you have the right direction. With my tutoring style, I help the student visualize problems by drawing them out whenever possible and explaining every little step of the way in arriving to the solution. We will work through several problems together until they recognize a pattern that they can comfortably revert back to as reference. I feel that every student needs a tutor to be successful because it's a subject that prompts many questions that are best answered at the personal level, rather than in the classroom.Outside of school, I play college tennis and compete at the men's open level all over southern California. I'm also a big fan of the beach and going on hikes with friends. Coaching tennis is also a big hobby of mine.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Humanities, Philosophy & Art at Biola University, where I attended on an academic scholarship. My love for tutoring began in high School when I tutored children (ages 5-14) through a daycare where I worked with special needs children in Math, English, Social Sciences, and Writing.I was in a Speech Team for high school students from 2004-2007, where I trained them in English Literature, Communications, and Public Speaking. We focused on stage presence, diction, confidence, and articulate communication delivery. After high school, I moved to France to be an Au Pair for a French family, where I tutored the children (ages 8-12) in English and became proficient in French myself. When I returned to the United States in 2006, I continued my studies in French grammar for four years, while pursuing my Bachelor's Degree at Biola University.I am a Shakespeare aficionado, love running, hiking, dancing, singing, and reading masterfully written classics novels. I love helping people overcome their fears and struggles in learning, and helping them take joy in learning. I love tutoring French, and having studied the language myself in France. I enjoy helping students gain authentic pronunciation, colloquialisms, and conversation skills!I am cheerful, positive, and a dedicated worker. I bring professionalism and fun to every tutoring scenario. By setting reasonable and attainable goals, I creatively design every session to accommodate the student's needs and learning preferences. Each person is unique, and ought to be given the special attention that will best equip them with the confidence and skills they need to succeed!

I have years of experience tutoring students of all ages, from elementary school through high school. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the violin, reading, and writing. I live in New York City during the academic year (September - May) and would be happy to tutor in-person (depending on the travel distance) then. I am a graduate from the California State University of Long Beach with a bachelors in Criminal Justice. For most of my life, I have attended academies for tutoring in order to help me prosper academically throughout my school years. Over the years, I took on multiple tutoring jobs myself in order to pass on the knowledge that I have been previously taught from my mentors onto others. Personally, I enjoy teaching mathematics ranging from basic elementary math up to Algebra 1. It is a subject that I found to be most exciting and interesting during my time in school. I have always found that teaching students has always been a passion of mine. It gives me great pleasure to see the understanding light up in their eyes the moment they understand the process to how they found the solution to a problem. In my spare time, I love being active by hiking around local mountains and playing basketball and talking sports. I believe that the students are the future generation. With that being said, it is imperative that students are educated thoroughly all the while enjoying the process of learning. Please do not shy away to ask me any questions regarding anything that you are curious about. I look forward to working with you all!
