There, I attended Marin Academy, a private high school that prepared me very well for my time earning my undergraduate degree at Brown University (Class of 2013). I have always been a hard worker when it comes to academics, and I understand what it takes, in terms of study skills and organization, to excel in school. I am excited to be able to give back and use my excellent education to share my knowledge with students who are struggling.

I am a graduate of Kennesaw State University. I have a bachelor's degree in early childhood education grades Pre-K through 5 and a co-teaching certification. As part of my coursework to earn my degree, I have had 40 hours of formal tutoring which was evaluated by university professors. During my final student teaching practicum, I worked extensively with students from my class to improve or extend skills across all subject areas. This included everything from helping struggling readers improve and succeed to creating new math challenges to extend learning for gifted students. I enjoy the entire learning process, so I am able to tutor all subject areas, but I especially love helping students with English and Language Arts. Reading and writing skills are the foundation for effective communication, which is an essential skill in today's world, so I love being able to give children that tool for success. As a tutor, I believe my role is not to give students every answer, but to give them the skills and strategies necessary to discover answers on their own. By constructing their own knowledge, students will learn more effectively which will translate tutoring success into classroom success.

I am currently an enrolled student at Kennesaw State University. I am currently pursuing a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, and once I get my degree in Mathematics, I plan to work for a PhD in the subject. As it can be seen, I am very passionate about mathematics, as well as critical thinking in general. Not only am I interested in learning the material, but I am also passionate in making sure others can get the same learning experience. In my freshman year of KSU, I helped a fellow student who was struggling in her calculus course by teaching her all of the course material in my own pace. I realized the best way to teach is to make the learning experience interactive and engaging, going at the pace of the student in need. I am a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, more often known as Georgia Tech. I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Mathematics in 2008. I then completed a Master of Science in Economics in 2010. I had official and unofficial teaching experience during both degrees, teaching Survey of Calculus, Econometrics, and Economic Forecasting. After graduating, I have mostly been a software developer, working mostly on algorithms, primarily in C++ and Python, but also MATLAB, VBA, and Javascript. I have always loved teaching, and my original plan was to pursue a PhD in order to become a professor. I have always had a knack for breaking down material in a way that is comprehensible to the student. In fact, when I had to fill in for the lead professor in Econometrics for two weeks, the students said to me, "We've learned more from you in two weeks than we have from the professor all semester." As a working professional, I have sometimes had the opportunity to teach my colleagues about a particular piece of code or a particular algorithm, but I also got the opportunity to teach full-time during the summer of 2016 at General Assembly, where I taught Data Science, which included many supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques, Python's Pandas (PANel DAtaSet) package, and a bit of database management. I am excited about getting the opportunity to teach again.

I have a master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a strong background in Math, Science and love for teaching. Chinese is my first language and I speak perfect Mandarin without any accent. I have experience tutoring students of all ages(K-college) in Math and Mandarin. I love watching my students grow and build confidence. My goal is to help my students get motivated to study and improve their problem-solving skills.

Currently a third year Mechatronics Engineering student at Kennesaw State University with a minor in Biomedical engineering. I tutor from early math to college level math. I also tutor in physics from high school to calculus based in college. I tutor in undergraduate engineering courses. Looking forward to working with you!

Insuring every person has the skills of reading and writing is a pillar in the moral development of our world. I use a hybrid of teaching styles including facilitation, demonstration and delegation. Most of all, I teach using compassion and understanding. School was always a challenge for me because all I wanted to do was perform. While I got standing ovations in the theater, I often struggled to stay awake in academic classes. This is what makes me a fabulous tutor and mentor. I am able to merge my passion for performance, understanding of limitations, and natural gift in communications to help my students find enjoyment in doing their absolute best.
