For the past four years, I have taught AP language and composition at the number one public high school in Maryland. At Eastern Technical we encourage, uplift, and empower students through rigorous, creative and challenging work. I am and have always been passionate about teaching. It has always been my dream job and the position I have now is nothing short of that. My experience has given me unique skills as a teacher, such as extensive practice with high-level lessons, exposure to thousands of high scoring essays, and collaboration with some of the best teachers in the state. I think it is also important to note that I am currently in a masters program for educational leadership, which highlights my commitment to teaching and learning. I have also previously scored for College Board for AP Language and Composition, which gives me helpful insight into the inner workings of those assignments, and thus even more informed on how to prepare students for it. I adore teaching. Every day in class, I try my hardest to make my students laugh, and/or surprise them with meaningful connections to what we're doing. I consider my creativity one of my greatest assets, and I pride myself on my ability to make, for example, a lesson that effectively teaches the fundamentals of an essay that has fun games, pop-culture references, and otherwise colorful and detailed slides and activities for students to stay focused and genuinely eager to learn.
