About Me

I graduated with a degree in International Relations from the University of Georgia. I'm very curious about the world and I love learning about other people. I love discussing history, sports, and what is going on in the world today. Spending my 20's living in South America helped me to broaden my perspective and now that I'm in my 30's I feel like I've interacted with more people and cultures than I ever thought possible. Before I graduated from high school, I hadn't traveled many places and I certainly hadn't gone many places by myself. I try to show the students that whatever problems they're experiencing now will fade away over time. Many student fall into a trap of thinking that this is the defining moment of their lives when in reality it's only a passing moment that will lead to bigger and better things. My role is like that of a coach in that I want the students to realize that they have the power to change things themselves, but I can help them to gain the perspective that they need. If I can instill the confidence in them to succeed in life, then I am a happy tutor.
