About Me

I am a Chemical Engineer. I currently work as a Sr. Operations Engineer at a chemical plant in Salisbury, NC. I'm a certified trainer with my organization. Although my career is fulfilling, I'm passionate about education and have always wanted to be a teacher. I particularly enjoy teaching math and science. Neither of these subjects came easy to me when I was younger, so I can understand the frustrations of students who struggle in these areas. However, I am living proof that anyone can learn to understand the material and even learn to love it! When tutoring a student, I am extremely patient. I understand that struggling with a subject can be frustrating and many people prefer to avoid the work all together. I have learned that relating difficult topics to something the student enjoys is an effective learning tool. I combine this technique with hands-on examples. In my experience, practice does make perfect!
