I required the guidance of several tutors. By high school, I was able to enjoy AP English courses and became a tutor for numerous courses myself. During my senior year of high school I joined the Air Force, where I would be assigned as an instructor in Washington, DC. After the service, I resumed tutoring through volunteer work with ESL, GED and citizenship exam preparation. Although I am experienced in a plethora of subjects, I most enjoy helping others grow in their writing and communication skills with essay and speech assistance. I understand how it can feel to need help and have the patience required for one-on-one instruction. I believe with enough time and guidance we can all unlock the potential within, and that sometimes the hardest lessons are our most valuable; therefore, it is vital that we never abandon education. Thanks to the tutors in my life, I now write and publish lyrics in my spare time. In tutoring, I work to enrich my students’ lives through acquiring once unattainable knowledge.

I enjoy writing lyrics and performing in a folk band. My quiet moments are spent painting music inspired art or reading poetry.
