I am passionate about the subject, they may feel that they can tap into that passion. Second, I like to engage the student personally. Education can sometimes feel transactional or even coercive. I want my student to feel that I am working for their benefit, and because I care about them, not because I'm getting paid.

I am currently a senior at Johns Hopkins studying Biomedical Engineering. I have a lot of experience tutoring in math, physics, chemistry, and thermodynamics. I have also proof-read essays for college applications and english classes as well. Outside of school I like to cook, play basketball, and listen to music.

I am a recent graduate of Cornell University, where I received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Over the past several years, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences tutoring thermodynamics (my personal favorite), chemistry, and math. I have also tutored in the past for ACT/SAT and other subjects such as history, but I am deeply passionate about science and engineering. I tend to push my students to understand conceptual topics, as opposed to rote or algorithmic learning. In my free time, I love to bake sourdough, learn about history, garden, and recently started biking again.

I am currently an honors undergraduate student at The Ohio State University studying Data Analytics with a focus on Biomedical and Public Health Analysis. My passion for tutoring comes from the belief that learning is supposed to be a fun and enriching process. I hope to help students find their love for learning. My tutoring experience comes from volunteer tutoring as part of National Honors Society in high school and by coaching/teaching the middle school academic challenge team. In my experience tutoring, I find that it is important to adapt to the learning style of each individual student. I tutor a variety of subjects including math ranging from Algebra through Calculus up to Linear Algebra, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Statistics. My favorite subject to tutor is any sort of math. In my spare time, I like to play sports like basketball or tennis, play video games, and read.

I am extremely passionate about the subjects I teach, but I understand that students don't all approach learning from the same ability level or viewpoint. Accordingly, I strive to make my lessons fun and appealing to all backgrounds by utilizing examples, where appropriate, from topics that are of interest to each specific student. I use a variety of teaching methods dependent on the specific student I am working with, recognizing that no two students are the same. Physics in particular provides a wonderful avenue for this approach, as problems can be made to fit most sports or hobbies.

I am a rising sophomore at Case Western Reserve University studying engineering. I have taken most high-school level standardized tests, and have scored consistently above the 95th percentile. I have tutored small groups of students throughout high school, and also have experience as a private tutor. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing Ultimate Frisbee with my college club team.

I am most interested in tutoring Math (geometry, algebra 1/2/prealgebra, trigonometry), Physics 1 and 2, General Chemistry (Honors, AP, or college level), and the MCAT Foundations of Physical Science and Critical Analysis and Reasoning sections.

I am a graduate of Westlake High School and a student at the University of Michigan who is pursuing an accelerated master's program in computer engineering. Throughout my high school career, I tutored numerous students ranging from freshmen who are taking core classes to seniors who are taking AP classes. Due to this, it allowed me to communicate and learn various methods of teaching that can be understandable to all ages. While I do tutor a diverse set of subjects, I primarily focus on STEM-based ones. I am also passionate about improving standardized test scores like the ACT. The thrill of hearing a student hitting his or her goal is what motivates me to become a better tutor. I truly believe that education is the catalyst to innovation. Whether that innovation is improving life, facilitating jobs, or just making our everyday world a bit better, my contribution to tutoring to benefit our future is what drives me to be part of the education system.

I am currently a P1 pharmacy student. I have had numerous opportunities to tutor students of various ages primarily in subjects that pertain to my program of study, especially chemistry. Throughout my years of study, I have come to the realization that only after meticulous examination of all the possible scenarios and exceptions of a particular phenomenon can we recognize patterns that may have facilitated our initial attempt to understand it in the first place. As a tutor, I hope to serve as a guide that aids students in discerning such patterns and integrating concepts to achieve a thorough and holistic understanding of the subject being studied. Besides tutoring, I enjoy playing the piano and cello, biking, and reading.

I am especially passionate about presenting a new perspective on algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra. In my experience, students have always appreciated my patience and flexibility when approaching challenging topics. I also follow sports closely, and in my spare time I enjoy running, watching movies, and playing games with friends.

I am currently a student at Case Western Reserve University for computer science. In high school, I was a member of the Peer Tutoring and Mentoring Club and enjoy working with students, primarily in math and science. My favorite subject is physics because it combines science with math and is actually applicable to real life. My learning philosophy is to just do practice problems. The more practice, the easier each problem will be. Somebody can spend all day just studying notes, but he or she will learn best by just doing practice problems. Outside of school, I own a website design business and I enjoy to do anything outdoors. I love snow skiing, water skiing, boating, hiking, and fishing.

I'm looking forward to working with you. My degree is in Mechanical Engineering, so I can assist with that (mechanics would be my specialty there). I can definitely assist with math through Calc 1. I can assist with most Physics, and some Chemistry.

I'm currently a college freshman. Some of my favorite subjects are philosophy, economics, and physics, but I tend to enjoy learning and teaching most everything, as all subjects are integral to understanding the world. I am a Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology graduate and currently attend Vanderbilt University majoring in Computer Engineering with a minor in Business. I've tutored in various subjects for about 6 years now. I've done it so much, one of the companies I started was tutoring-based. In all, I am a technology-oriented entrepreneur, an impact-driven member of the community, and a striving academic. My passion for computer engineering and dedication to solving the world's problems push me to continue to be better tomorrow than I am today. I am an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have tutored students since my early high school years. I've had experience instructing and guiding a variety of students, from young middle schoolers taking their first steps into the world of computer programming to my own peers struggling with their calculus exams. Over the past year alone, I've worked with over 30 students, spending several hours each day to help them stay up to speed on their schoolwork. I specialize in many areas of math as well as computer science, biology and physics. When tutoring students, I draw on my own experience with learning the material to identify and address the obstacles they face. I believe that promoting a deeper level of understanding of the subject, as opposed to merely teaching to the test or problem set, will enable students to excel in the long-term.

I am enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering PhD program at Rice University which will begin Fall 2020, and I am hoping to return to academia as a professor after earning my PhD. In the meantime, I am looking to share my passion for gaining knowledge, specifically in STEM, by educating the up and coming members of such a great field. I have experience tutoring both Calculus and Physics at Notre Dame, as well as experience as a Student Assistant for Differential Equations and Mechanics. I believe the key to learning is much deeper than learning to solve problems and that seeking knowledge is one of the best means for personal improvement.

I'm available to tutor biology, chemistry, physics, math from Algebra up through AP Calculus, SAT test prep, and French. I've been tutoring students in science and math for 7 years. I also spent 8 months working and studying in France, and have tutored high school and adult students in French. I am a rising senior at Harvard College pursuing an AB in Government. Academically, I have diverse interests, including history, language, math, physics, philosophy, music, and politics. In high school, I tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in music, math, ACT and SAT prep, and Spanish. At Harvard, I spent a year as a course assistant in the math department, helping to teach introductory undergraduate calculus. Currently, I volunteer with the Leadership Institute at Harvard College (LIHC) as part of its Social Outreach Committee. This work involves teaching a weekly course called "Fundamentals of Leadership" to a class of middle school students. Overall, I have found my experiences tutoring math to be the most rewarding.

I am a 2023 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Finance/Economics major and a minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I am a passionate student in the math and business realms, as I enjoy the intuitiveness of the former and the real-world potential of the latter. During classes in middle and high school, I developed a reputation of being a good source of help within my classes in a non-tutor capacity, and grew that into a peer tutor role a couple times a week during lunch my senior year of high school. What I hope to accomplish with my tutoring is ensure that you not only achieve your desired grade/score, but see how the different concepts relate to each other in the bigger picture. The more important part is to critically think about the subject matter in other, more unfamiliar contexts. Also, in my math subjects, I seek to provide personal secrets in realms including quicker computation strategies, unique acronyms for certain rules, and other intuitive shortcuts.

I'm a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math, Economics, and Computer Science. I've tutored in a variety of subjects throughout high school and currently work part-time as a Course Assistant for an Introductory Calculus course at Harvard. I especially love tutoring math and making it a more accessible subject for students to learn. Aside from academics, I'm passionate about community service (I'm a director for a student-run homeless shelter!), music, digital design, and baking!
