My view of education is based on a simple philosophy of what is best for the student. That may sound over simplified, but with that as my guiding philosophy I have had a positive impact on thousands of students and their families. Knowing what is best for children and young adults seems to shift over the years but has always been centered on having a moral compass, expecting honesty, building a work ethic, and becoming a lifelong learner and strong citizen.Students learn more from the actions of the adults they encounter than the subject matter they are teaching. Building relationships with students is the gateway to true teaching. Students learn to trust their teachers and administrators and it became one of my driving forces as an administrator to make sure the adults in my school realized the impact they have on students. Every person can name a teacher that had a positive impact on them and, unfortunately, most can also name a teacher who did not. I have been teaching music and elementary subjects for the past 5 years. I am incredibly passionate about helping students achieve their goals and make growth. My teaching is centered around building relationships with students and meeting their learning needs.I have my Bachelors of Music in Studio Composition from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, and I am currently working towards my Masters of Teaching in Childhood Education and Special Education.

I am a graduate of Emory University and Relay Graduate School of Education. During my time at Emory, I studied psychology and dance. I also taught numerous students within and outside of my coursework obligations across various disciplines, e.g. English/Shakespeare, dance, etc.. This unraveled a passion for teaching, which led me to pursue a masters in teaching at Relay Graduate School of Education with a particular focus on learning behaviorism (disabilities).For the last 4 years, I have had the honor to professionally teach PHENOMENAL students in Chicago, Illinois. Many of those students are those who happen to have a disability (or disabilities) and who have helped me to fall in love with teaching as a craft. I enjoy collaborating with students to conjure their full potential and to reconfigure how they go about learning. I humbly believe that learning can be both rigorous and fun. I strive to achieve the latter by curating personalized lesson plans as much as I can for students.I enjoy teaching English, Writing and Math for different reasons. I love to read and write, so the ability to share in that love with students is something I find to be extremely rewarding, especially when students are disinterested (and sometimes afraid) of them. I also obtained a Certificatein education to be able to teach. After college, I traveled a lot (Australia, Japan, Ireland, France) andtaught core curriculum subjects at different private schools in Montreal for 5 years. Since my relocationin Texas, I have worked as a French Translator for different companies throughout the Dallas area. But Imissed teaching terribly and want to get back to my roots.French language is my passion and I always worked in French. As a French tutor I am committed to passalong this passion. With me you will learn how to converse in French in everyday situations (restaurant,directions, call a cab, greetings etc.) I am a firm believer that to be able to learn or to master a newlanguage you need to be exposed to the culture, to hear the language and to have no choice than tospeak the language.In my teaching, I use a lot of cultural tools to expose the students to the French culture (music, videos,books, magazines, newspapers, etc.) I can teach French at all levels from beginner to advanced and fromconversation skills to written skills (grammar). I am proud to say that my own kids speak French fluentlyas well and, in addition, they understand Italian.In my spare time, I read books in French, Italian and English, go on walks, spend time with my 2 kids andtravel. I am a fourth year Medical Student, months away from graduating with my MD. I have been teaching almost all my life. My love of teaching began at age eight when I taught my four year old sister to read and do math, up to multiplication before kindergarten. I have also tutored in after school programs in the Richmond area and I often teach other medical students in the hospital.My teaching style very flexible. I approach learning as a fun experiment; where we work as a team to find the answer, not only to the problem at hand, but how to making the topic of interest easier to learn in the future. I am well versed in many topics from elementary up to the graduate level. I am excited to meet you and have some fun learning together.

I have taught 1st grade for 4 years and believe it is the "reading grade." I know how important it is for a child to be reading on level when they leave 1st grade and how it will effect them throughout their academic life. This year I am teaching kindergarden. I am a very patient teacher. I have a great love for teaching reading and phonics. Although, I am familiar with all elementary school state standards as a public school teacher, and would be comfortable teaching all subjects. My greatest ability and passion is teaching reading.
