I graduated in 2015 from the University of Wisconisn-Madison where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. I took the MCAT over the summer of 2016, scoring a 520. I have over five years of teaching and tutoring experience, having worked with children as young as eight exploring circuits for the first time, middle schoolers needing help with written and verbal skills, university students struggling with organic chemistry, and adults brushing up on algebra and biology as they go back to school. I strive to make a positive impact on my students' grade, confidence, and understanding through a calm and supportive attitude.

I am currently a dental hygiene instructor at Madison College, in Madison, Wisconsin. I received a B.S. degree in Dental Hygiene from Marquette University and a Master's degree in Adult Education from University of Wisconsin, Platteville. I began my teaching career as an associate professor at the University of Minnesota, School of Dental Hygiene. I have a combined 30 years of experience in education and clinical practice with an interdisciplinary background in Health and Wellness. In addition to teaching, I provide continuing education, patient education and practice management resources to dental professionals through Crest and Oral-B National website and have published for the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA) on the topic of Nutrigenomics. I enjoy putting learning into context and bring life experiences to the profession of dental hygiene while striving to genuinely connect with students. I enjoy teaching Dental Health Safety, Nutrition & Dental Health, and Seminar/Case Study, as well as clinical instruction at Madison College. I strive to encourage self-direction, confidence, and passion in our chosen profession. I challenge, question, use humor, and teach with compassion. I strive to build meaningful relationships with students.

I am currently a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, studying retail. I have worked with kids, of all ages, my entire life as an assistant teacher and camp counselor. I am very familiar with the one-on-one setting that tutoring entails, and have a great knowledge of the French language. Fun-fact, I am actually a French citizen! My Dad was born in France, and I have spent several summers living in Marseille with my family. From pre-k through my senior year of high school, I attended a French academy in Chicago. I'm extremely passionate about everything involving the French culture, and I am excited to share my knowledge with others!

I suppose I am well on my way to becoming a cheesehead by now.I have taught and tutored in the U.S., England and Sweden -- ranging from elementary phonics to postmodern literature and Elizabethan revenge tragedy. But irrespective of whether I am teaching pre-K or college, I want to convey a sense of how amazing language and literature are.Hobbies include, but are hopefully not limited to: spending time with my wife, chess, and admiring magpies and other equally intelligent corvids. I also read too much for my own good, and this includes everything from Beowulf to the back of Corn Flakes boxes.

I love Spanish! I have a passion to help others learn Spanish, and develop and grow in their Spanish skills: grammar, pronunciation and conversation. I learned Spanish in Costa Rica and continued to grow in my ability spending 15 years in Peru.

I studied physics at a liberal arts school, worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and did two years of work on a masters at University of New Mexico. I have taught lab courses in introductory physics and tutored college and high school students in physics and math. I am interested in making physics and math relatable to people who are not naturally adept at it. I have taken the SAT, the general GRE and the physics GRE subject tests.I also play trumpet and have studied music theory in music camps and AP music theory so I can tutor music theory.

I've recently graduated from UW-Madison with a physics degree. I come from humble beginnings. Having started at a community college in Florida and later working my way up to a top 20 school, I know what's it's like to start with seemingly no aptitude in math or physics. I eventually became confident enough in my abilities to want to pursue the field (physics) as a career, you might too. It takes hard work, patient guidance from mentors, and often times a certain shift in perspective. I'm here to aid in the latter two. I hope that after working with me, you have a greater appreciation for and comfort with math and science.

In my collegiate career, I worked with struggling elementary students on their reading comprehension, taught a summer science program at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, and volunteered with an after-school engineering club at the Goodman Center. I also held the position of Resident Assistant for two years with University Housing, where I served as an academic and mental health resource for seventy-eight first year students. I tutor all grade level science courses and I particularly love working with Chemistry, Biology, and Physics courses. I also work with ACT and MCAT preparation. I believe in "working smarter" by using study tricks, participating in engaged learning, and helping you find your style of learning. In my spare time, I play rugby, read books about interesting microbes, and walk my yellow Labrador.
