"An investment in knowledge pays the best interest."-Benjamin FranklinI became a tutor after my parents forced me to assist my younger brothers with their homework. From that point on, I knew I had a knack for teaching others. Not only was I able to help them meet their goals, but I actually found sharing my knowledge to be fulfilling.

I'm a student just like you. I finally accomplished my goal of graduating with a Bachelor's Degree at the University of Central Florida. Just because my days in the classroom are over doesn't mean I'm done with learning.I see myself as a student just like yourself, eager to teach and hungry to learn. I love to read write and tell stories, after all, I'm a storyteller... a filmmaker. As a kid I grew up playing soccer and making videos in my spare time. I still do these things and believe you're never too old to be a child at heartI believe that with a good attitude and a passionate mindset, anybody who is willing, can be the best at what they do. If that's your goal, then I want to help you achieve your dreams.

My name is Kyle Lanier and I am passionate about helping students succeed in music! I have been teaching for 20 years and have experience in all levels K-12, was a band director for 14 years and now teach elementary music in an International Baccalaureate school. I received my Bachelor of Music degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and a Master of Arts in Human Services Administration from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. I am comfortable tutoring students in all types of music subjects from theory to history and even can help with instrument or voice lessons as needed. While I love all types of music, I truly love teaching trumpet lessons because I am a professional trumpet player and perform with the local symphony in my community, and freelance as needed. My teaching philosophy is that of an encourager and facilitator in student learning. I approach learning as a coach, coming alongside the student to assist them as needed, but ultimately to cheer them on in their pursuit of knowledge. In addition to my love for music, I'm also a technology geek and love exploring various types of technology.

I was in the top 10 in my class at an engineering magnet High School and then went on to graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2016. After leaving college, I immediately took a position for a software development company where I have been a QA analyst for over 3 years now. My end goal career wise is to one day be a Disney Imagineer with a focus on robotics and animatronics. My Honors Thesis was the proposition of Sensory Relief rooms to be implemented throughout the Disney parks to provide much needed respite to those suffering from disorders on the Autism Spectrum and more specifically, Sensory Processing Disorder. In essence, while my passion is engineering, I am unafraid of expanding my horizons and exploring fields such as mental health, software coding, and any other challenge that will further my education.Regarding my views on education. Without the next generation taking an active approach towards learning, what we do now will be for nothing. We cannot expect the up and coming generations to go without the wisdom and learning of the generations before, particularly from our mistakes and follies. Only with dedicated support and faith in their abilities can the students of today become the great minds of tomorrow. Thereby, I hope that I might be able to inspire whomever I can to value learning and the understanding of the world around us.But a little about my holistic self, however, and I must admit I am an avid fan of video games, notably the Fallout and Call of Duty franchises. And for those curious, I'm dedicated to Sony and the PlayStation (sorry PC or Xbox gamers). I also enjoy soccer, table top role-playing, paint ball, and horror movies (especially the awful ones). My wife and I, together, enjoy trips to Disney World whenever possible. In addition, my apartment is filled with various critters, ranging from contained millipedes and snails to our adorably timid dog, Dixie.

I began my college career by majoring in the Spanish language at Howard University. However, I graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Foreign Languages. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I completed a Master of Science degree in Education for English Language Learning and Teaching. Currently, I have been pursuing a Ph.D. in Education for Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I received a certification in Elementary Education K-6 and ESOL K-12 as well as a Reading Endorsement. I have had teaching and tutoring experience in all core content areas, including math. Also, I have taught and tutored elementary and middle school students for over ten years. I worked extensively as an ESOL teacher for students in Kindergarten thru eighth grade. In particular, I assisted students in the arena of English Language Acquisition, English Language Arts, Reading, and Writing, focusing on Science and Social Studies in the content area. Finally, I have had experience instructing students in learning strategies for state standardized testing. As a teacher and a tutor, I endeavored to help students recognize their strengths while working toward their personal and academic goals.

I am a recent graduate from the University of Central Florida. Having completed my dual degree path, I earned my Bachelor's in History and my Bachelor's in Latin American Studies. I have personally felt the positive impact of interactive online learning, both as a student and a tutor. The difference flexible online learning makes in the students life continues to motivate my top priority, which is to create a personal and enjoyable learning experience for each and every student I teach. I am most passionate about History and English subjects. These subjects can come off as "repetitive" or "boring", and that is why I am most excited about helping students have a memorable and fun experience while also learning. Regardless of subject, I am here to make a memorable and positive impact on a student's education! I look forward to meeting with you soon.

I am a current senior at Johns Hopkins University, majoring in English and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Management. When I have a break from my studies, I work as a freelance writer for a new online publishing company, or I volunteer to tutor local high school kids in the SAT or local elementary school kids in math. Thus, I have experience in tutoring a variety of students in different age levels, subjects, and backgrounds.Since I was a child, I have always had a fondness for reading and writing. I have been writing for as long as I can remember, but I specialize in persuasive and argumentative writing; I even had a student editorial published in my local paper when I was 16. Due to this love for writing, I am able to tutor in a variety of English-based areas including the SAT and ACT Reading and Verbal Sections, general grammar studies, literature, and essay editing. As a tutor, I do not just help you answer the problem, but I help you to understand the fundamental skills that the question is asking so that you can apply that knowledge to similar problems in the future. In this pursuit, I am very patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic as I try to instill an interest, if not excitement, of the subject material into my students. I also recognize that each student is different and try to cater to the individual learning needs of everyone. In my spare time, I do a lot of reading; I love how words can take you to a whole new place and even leave you with a whole new perspective on life. Naturally, my favorite genres are Science Fiction and Fantasy, but I certainly do not let that limit me. I am also an avid video gamer, especially RPGs, because it is like living out a story. I also must confess a certain fondness for Japanese Anime and Manga (I just love the Japanese culture), as well as an interest in soccer (in fact, I used to be a soccer referee), horseback riding, and Disney movies (because something has to channel my inner child).
