I am a Ph.D. student at the University at Buffalo, studying English literature. My research is in nineteenth and twentieth-century, American literature, and my teaching experience is mostly in English composition and writing, in particular essay writing, making arguments, conducting humanities research, as well as providing solid instruction in writing mechanics and grammar. I have tutored and consulted writers for seven years, and I have taught writing for five.

I graduated from Harry S. Truman high school in 2015. I am currently studying Chemistry at the University at Buffalo, where I am planning to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemistry. I am fairly experienced working with grade school and high school students in their math and science classes.When I was in those grades, I would assist the teacher by tutoring their students who are struggling in the class, whether that's just help with their homework or and extensive review of the material we learned in class. I also helped many of my peers prepare for the New York Regents exams. I helped them prepare for the Chemistry, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Algebra Regents. These along with basic math and science concepts are my favorite to help students because these are the subjects I excel at. These subjects interest me the most and I hope to use these subjects in my future field of work.I can teach in many ways and will always adjust my style to fit the students needs. I do tend to teach in way that allows the student to learn their own process of thinking while using me a resource if they are having trouble. I like to do this by facilitating the student through practice problems without giving any real answers. This allows the student to understand the material as well as build their confidence to tackle a problem all on their own.Outside of school, I like to do many to unwind such as go for a run or some form of exercise. I enjoy drawing, reading, and even video games. I always like to learn about new hobbies to keep me from ever being bored.

I bring enthusiasm and love of learning to every tutoring session and measure my success by that of my students'.I spend my spare time reading, finding awesome books to recommend to my students, running, walking my dog, cooking for my friends and family, studying Mandarin, and planning my next trip to Asia.

I and am currently finishing my last year of dental school, earning a D.D.S. from SUNY University at Buffalo with a minor in Endodontics. Patience, communication, and empathy are central to my teaching philosophy and are key skills for any successful teacher, and with the right toolkit, anyone can learn and master a subject. I believe students tend to find these technical subjects difficult due to simple misunderstandings and gaps, or due to a lack of descriptive visual tools to help the student envision complex problems and ideas, which is particularly important in STEM topics. Additionally, one-on-one time with the student is invaluable to helping the student and being able to precisely pinpoint any confusion, misunderstandings, or question-asking anxieties that students often face in a full classroom.

I currently attend the University at Buffalo where I am working toward my B.A. in philosophy and my B.S. in biology. In high school, I was valedictorian of my class and excelled in every subject.
