I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology and International Studies, including one year of study in Kenya. After graduating, I worked for several years as a systems analyst for a medical software company, and later for a children's hospital. This fall, I began a master's program in Cultural Foundations of Education. I teach ESL as part of my practicum in a local community center, and have also taught English in El Salvador. I am proficient in Spanish, including four months of intensive study at a Spanish language school, and am very familiar with how Spanish is taught in a classroom.Additionally, I have several months of experience tutoring in classrooms (especially middle school reading), and also have some experience tutoring the US naturalization test. I hope to complete my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification by June.I am passionate about many subjects, including Spanish, ESL, English, History, and Political Science. I attempt to ground my teaching and tutoring in the daily experiences, motivations, and goals of the student, customizing the materials to meet their needs and learning styles. Over my eight years of teaching, I have worked with students in writing essays, understanding material assigned to them and material that they use in writing argument and research papers. As a tutor, I can help you with beginning your essays, developing them, and suggesting ways to make them better. Because my interests are diverse, I can help you move ahead with assignments in many subject areas, especially ones involving research and writing. I believe that one-on-one contact with students is important, recognizing each as a unique human being, drawing out of them interests that connect with their assignments. Her goal as an Instructor and HR processional is not only to teach the curriculum and provide examples from her HR professional roles, but to also ensure that her students successfully complete the course by keeping a pulse on her students and assisting where applicable.

I just completed my Master of Science in Public Policy degree at NYU Wagner, in which I specialized in a wide variety of topics including mathematics, statistics, economics, and political science. I also have extensive experience in applying these topics to real-world experiences. I got my undergraduate degree in economics and political science, with a minor in history, from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. In addition to my studies, I have worked at a variety of jobs and internships, including at a polling and strategy firm and as a research assistant to a published presidential historian.My strongest subjects are microeconomics, public economics, and American politics, and I am highly proficient in other areas in economics, high school mathematics, calculus I and European history.I hope that I can share my interest and passion for these subjects and help others achieve the same knowledge and enthusiasm.In my free time I enjoy playing golf and squash, reading, traveling and watching sports
