The students were reviewing several sections from their last chapter for the year, including series and sums of series, permutations and combinations, and probability. They were having no trouble with series, so we mostly just worked on permutations and combinations with several example problems, and especially being able to recognize the difference between the two in word problems. We also talked about sample space and events in the section on probability also with several practice problems.

The student and I reviewed several additional stock valuation problems that I had forwarded to him as homework that included problems related to the calculation of a current stock price, as well as a stock price in "x" number of years (and for this latter example, both the present value - dividend growth model approach was used as well as a future value approach). In addition, we reviewed a problem involving the basic dividend growth model (DGM) approach of D1 / r - g = price, a preferred stock calculation with the first dividend not paid out until a certain number of years in the future, and a growing dividend/ supernormal growth valuation.
