I am currently a sophomore at IUPUI working towards a Bachelor of Arts in English with a Creative Writing focus and a Bachelor of Arts in PR Journalism.I am the youngest of six kids; four boys and two girls. I have been working with newborns to 15 year olds for almost seven years now. My first job was teaching swim lessons at my high school, and lifeguarding. I have babysat and nannied as well. While nannying I was often times required to help the kids finish their homework and I have done unpaid tutoring sessions for classmates in the past. I love to work with kids and teenagers because they have big and bright personalities that resonate through their work.I first learned about Varsity Tutors from my sisters boyfriend. Being a full-time college student makes working a minimum wage job hard, and tedious. Varsity Tutors gives me the ability to make money based off of my skill sets, and still allows me enough flexibility in my schedule to do my homework and extracurricular activities at school.

I am a mother, a full-time high school math teacher, and generally have a love for life and being around young people. I love mathematics and enjoy sharing my passion with others. I also enjoy helping people overcome obstacles to their goals like breaking socio-economic barriers, all of which I did to become who I am today!

I am originally from Evanston, IL. I just recently graduated from Brown University with a degree in Music Theory/History/Composition and am about to embark on a master's program at NYU in musical theatre writing. Aside from playing trombone or composing I can often be found baking something fresh or playing with dogs outside.Throughout high school I got a lot of help from my dad with my homework and realized the value of working with others on assignments. He taught me many of my tutoring philosophies that I have today, including the fact that teaching one of the best ways to solidify knowledge. I also want to help students find passion in subjects that they might not want to admit are interesting. I also want to highlight each students strengths to guide the way through where they are less confident. College application essays and writing papers may be stressful but I want to help students find the best methods to make the process engaging, enlightening, and, dare I say, fun.

I am a senior mechanical engineering college student with a cumulative GPA of 3.99 out of a 4.0 scale. Ive worked as volunteer tutor in a mechanical engineering drop in lab and as a teaching assistant to one of my professors. From that I learned that I really enjoy helping students to master material and succeed. I like doing math, and many kinds of engineering homework. Something interesting about me is that I did a service mission in Brazil and am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. I love playing sports (especially basketball), and I enjoy the outdoors

I have degrees in English literature and in theatre, and I've studied Shakespeare extensively at Kings College London and at The Globe Theatre. I particularly love to teach English and Writing and Rhetoric, though I also have experience with Human Geography, Russian, French, and elementary school students. I'm big on habit building and using memory tools that aren't taught in most schools and make studying a whole lot easier. I also like to infuse the subjects I teach with excitement and engage a student's curiosity.

I am a life-long learner and love to inspire others to see learning as an adventure in knowledge, that can help benefit students as they grow forward in life.

I have been assisting and teaching students since my teaching assistant days back in 6th grade. From there, I went to Youngstown State University in Northeast Ohio and obtained my teaching degree in grades 4-9 math, social studies, and reading.I have taught in the classroom (online and in person) 5 years to date with my degree and several more before I graduated, ranging from Kindergarten all the way up to 9th. Nothing can ever replace the the memories of each and every student that has walked through my door. I truly believe every student can learn, given a welcoming environment that allows them to try new things, fail at others, and explore the world around them.Currently, I am teaching 8th grade Algebra and general mathematics as well as a Life Skills Math course in a district in Ohio. I love the small town feel, and it's a new challenge everyday.I love to teach math. Something about arriving at the right answer makes me feel complete after seeing all my hard work scribbled down on a board. Social studies is another passion of mine. We wouldn't be where we are today without where we've been and what we have learned from it. Social studies also nurtures map as well as money and finance skills in our everyday life.I look forward to working with new students/clients and assisting them with their work!

I have a very strong background in Math and Physics and obtained a perfect math score in my college and graduate school entrance exams. The best part of teaching for me is watching a student slowly grasp and understand a subject that once was very foreign to them.

I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and am working on getting my Special Education teaching degree at the moment. I have a background with tutoring in Writing and Reading subjects. I also have worked on resume building and college applications. My objective is to help students use different strategies and learning styles to capture their full learning potential.

I earned a Graduate Certificate in Special Education from Walden University, an M.S.Ed. in Reading from Northwest Missouri State University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education - Social Science from the University of maine at Farmington.
