I am a graduate from Boston College studying Psychology, Pre-medicine and German. During my undergraduate education I tutored in health sciences, English and did extensive general and research paper editing for grammar, content and format.

I am a doctoral-prepared Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of nursing experience in critical care, med-surg, trauma-stepdown, and bariatric surgery. I have had the pleasure of facilitating learning in nursing students throughout my career and enjoy every bit of it! I understand the struggles of going through nursing and NP school, studying for certification exams, as well as, gaining footing once starting out in the professional world. I am here to help you every step of the way and see myself as more of a mentor throughout the process! Lets get through the stuggles together and with success!

I am a graduate of both Duke University and University of Delaware. I received my Bachelor of Science at Duke in Computer Science and Biology. After graduating from Duke, I had several jobs involving teaching, including training adults on Microsoft Excel and Word and as a Science, Math and English tutor to elementary and junior high students. I also worked in Philadelphia as a standardized patient for a medical school. These jobs made me realize how much I wanted to be a teacher full time.

I am a graduate of Duke University. I received my Doctorate in Nursing Practice, Executive Leadership. I am also a graduate of George Washington University where I received my Masters of Science in Nursing with a focus on Health Care Quality. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Arts in Biology from DeSales University with a minor in psychology. Additionally, I have certifications as a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality, Certified Professional in Patient Safety, and Six Sigma Green Belt. I am a professional mentor at my organization for beginner nurses looking to advance their career and also provide academic guest lectures at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. I have been blessed with many wonderful mentors and teachers in my academic journey and will always strive to enhance others academic or professional journey as well. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my two children, hiking, Philadelphia 76ers, gardening, and reading Harry Potter.

I am a recent graduate of Wagner College who received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minor in French. I am currently a RN at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Pediatric ICU and come with fresh experience in NCLEX/TEAS test prep and clinical fieldwork. I have tutored students in the past with Kumon, in private, and while in university, so I'm very familiar working with students of all ages (children and adults alike), and very excited to begin work with Varsity Tutors! I always make sure to have fun and involve students in lessons so that the subjects are more relatable to students and they can find personal ways to engage with the topics taught. Although I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about French language and culture, particularly francophone tradition, food, and celebration. My trips to France really kept my French knowledge and interests alive.

I am an experienced multi-subject teacher, who has had the great fortune to have been educated in several countries, and to teach in several countries. I received my education at Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University, the Universitaet Mozarteum, in Salzburg, Austria, University of Virginia, and Oxford. I have taught in the US, UK, Austria and Japan, and lived in all of those countries, plus Iceland, and for a shorter period in both France, and Turkey. My students have ranged in age from kindergarten, to adults, and have spoken many languages. I grew up trilingual, and added quite a few more languages along the way. I have the distinction of being one of the few non-native speakers of fluent Icelandic.

I'm focused on student success, and I don't give up! My teaching style is very interactive and relaxed, and I tailor information so that students can learn in a way that is best for them. When tutoring students, I help them better organize and understand the content, assist with difficult concepts, and provide test-taking strategies.

I am elated to be able to still lend my expertise, in a remote fashion. My passion is servant and helping others reach their goal of becoming a nurse. I have over 27 years of nursing and healthcare experience. I currently hold as ADN, from Valencia College, a BSN from Mountain State University, and an MSN in Nursing Administration from Kaplan University/Purdue Global. I specialize in Nursing Education/Health care specialties and certifications.

As a graduate of both in-person and online educational programs and universities, I am acutely aware of the challenges that can accompany these different learning formats. It is my passion to help students be successful in any learning environment they find themselves in. It is an honor to be a part of your journey to success! Any educational journey is not for the faint of heart! My own journey to becoming a Registered Nurse (BSN) was wraught ups and downs, mountaintops and valleys! I found success in utilizing tutors during my time in school, facilitating study groups, and staying organized in my study notes and in life in general. I am a huge proponent of learning to understand so that learned knowledge can be applied to a variety of scenarios/questions. I stay current in my nursing practice by working at a local hospital in a nearby city. I enjoy teaching and mentoring new nurses and student nurses on site. And I get to feed my love of helping those learn here at Varsity Tutors! During the school year I also teach as an adjunct faculty at Boise State University in their School of Nursing which I really enjoy! My special focus is High School/Adult learners. I am a Dartmouth graduate. I am currently working on my med and business endeavors. I have not only an interest, but a motivation to help others. I have helped students get into Ivy League schools as well as other top universities across the country with top scholarships. I tutor in all subjects from French to Essay Writing and Algebra to Chemistry! I want my students and tutees to see the value in themselves and know that they can accomplish anything with determination and hard work! Realizing you can do it is half the battle and working hard to bring that dream to fruition is the other half!

I am so glad you have taken the first, and ever-so important steps to building knowledge, and hopefully that is here with me. I can understand some of the challenges you are facing regarding the rigor of academics, however it is always possible to break things down into a more simplified version that we all can grasp.
