About Me

I am a graduate from the University of Rochester School of Nursing with a Master Degree in Health Care Leadership and Management as a Clinical Nurse Leader. I have held certifications as a Clinical Nurse Leader, Pain Management Nursing and Competency as a Palliative Care Nurse. I'm a community American Heart Association BLS instructor also. I love teaching and mentoring others to see them reach their goals with success! I have adult education certification in which I have been instructing and tutoring students in nursing, GED/TASC, ESOL and assisting with workforce/career development since 2014. I have assisted students from entry level to obtaining professional certification with strategic test strategies from nursing assistant, LPN, RN and other adult programs. Over 400 students have been mentored or tutored to date. Recently, I have additional experience with tutoring 7th - 12th grade in Science and Spanish which I love dearly also but nursing and the sciences are my true passions. I began my journey as a Registered Nurse in 2002. Prior to my RN career, I was an unlicensed personnel as a Patient Care Tech for a busy medical-surgical floor and SICU. I have over 20 years experience as an RN in acute care primarily med/surg but also over quite a few years included recruitment, long-term care, community health, and education. I am very active not just clinically but in my community, promoting wellness and devolving disparities to enhance quality of life and empowering others to see their potential to be successful in their passions. I have been an item writer for a standardized exam and have held memberships with many professional organizations. I have great insight into time management and understanding standardized professional certification exams. I greatly enjoy working with students and have a deep passion to see others successful in their goals and it's naturally my nature, as a nurse, to have compassion as a mentor. I promote the importance of healthily embedded structure and life balance to achieve excellence. Tapping the potential of any student is possible and I'm dedicated to supporting anyone who seeks success!
