About Me

I'm Katy Reed, RN, MSN-Ed. I'm a DNP candidate, and I'm passionate about helping nursing students feel confident and prepared for the challenges of real-world practice. My journey began at the bedside, where I cared for patients in critical care and medical-surgical settings. Those experiences taught me the importance of sharp clinical judgment and strong foundational knowledgeskills that can truly make a difference in patient outcomes. As an educator, my goal is to share that perspective with students. I focus on making complex topics like pharmacology, dosage calculations, and NCLEX test-taking strategies approachable and practical. I believe learning should go beyond memorization; it should empower students to think critically and act decisively, especially in high-acuity situations. I became an educator because I know how overwhelming nursing school can feel, and I want to be the mentor who helps students turn uncertainty into confidence. Watching future nurses grow into capable, compassionate professionals is what drives me every day.
